![]() Author has written 15 stories for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Harry Potter, Dollhouse, and Glee. "If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrariwise, what it is, it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would -- you see?" Alice, from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll "And who are you, then? Caroline?" "I'm Echo. You didn't make me--I made me." ...[later] "Do you know, Caroline Farrell left quite a trail of unhappiness in her wake, and not a few bodies." "So, are you saying that she's evil?" "Worse: an idealist." --Adelle DeWitt and Echo from "Dollhouse" Stories from The Drowned World About Me: I am a writer of both original fiction and fanfiction as well as a criminal psychology major. I work in a library part-time, so I'm constantly reading (and expanding my fandom bases, naturally). My major areas of interest in fanfiction lie in Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel, Dollhouse, Elektra and Amelia Atwater-Rhodes' supernatural worlds created in The Kiesha'ra and the Nyeusigrube (Den of Shadows) novels. I also got caught up in the world of Glee. I tend to write anything that strikes my fancy, but I like to insert action as well as psychology into my work (also, if I'm going to do a romantic pairing I'll usually focus on slash). As I'm currently a student as well as working one full-time job and one part-time job, my stories occasionally get irregularly updated and I apologise for the delays. Music is also very important to me -- I can't write without it. I'll usually compose "soundtracks" for the various projects that I'm working on and I tend to share these with my readers so they can get a peek into my head (or at least my iTunes library). I also really like to interact with people who take the time to read my work, so if you leave me a non-anonymous review I tend to respond to them; I also welcome PM's. I am also constantly learning when it comes to writing, so if you catch any spelling/grammar mistakes or continuity issues, constructive criticism is highly welcomed. My completely irregularly updated LiveJournal account is pfenix-goddess . livejournal . com in case you'd like to check there, but as I fail at HTML (or, well, computers in general; really, it's a marvel I'm able to write this as we speak!) I usually just archive my fiction on this site rather than my journal. That about covers it, I think. See you on the other side of the ocean! Famous faces, far-off places, trinkets I can buy No handsome stranger, heady danger, drug that I can try No Ferris Wheel, no heart to steal, no laughter in the dark No one-night stand, no far-off land, no fire that I can spark The face of you My substitute for love My substitute for love Should I wait for you? My substitute for love Substitute for love And now I find I've changed my mind-- This is my religion. --from "Drowned World / Substitute for Love" by Madonna (Ray of Light, 1998) |
