The mascaret promise - I hate it when I start reading a story and the writer doesn't finish it so I won't start posting a multichapter story unless I have at least a completed first draft of the entire story. That said - I have no compunction against not continuing to post a story if readers aren't willing to take the time to give feedback or if the only feedback is of a negative and nonconstructive nature. In essence, I won't leave you hanging if you don't leave me hanging. Only in effect while I am actively posting on a particular story. Once it has been abandoned because of lack of reader interest that's that.

Loose threads (dangling plotlines) left over from one finished story are generally handled in one or more of the other storylines.)

Putting the Band Back Together, Sabbatical, and Devil or Angel were all stand alone stories unrelated to that universe.

All my DA fics occur in the same universe as each other and reference each other.

Harry Potter

Stalling, Folie a Deux Plus or Minus One, & Best Laid Plans are separate from the PM&T series and feature Michael Gambon/manipulativeDumbledore.

'Rat-a-tat-cat', ‘Dumbledore’s Beard‘, ‘Buttons’, and ‘Midnight Wanderings’ are all capable of standing alone, but were actually snippets from later, not uploaded chapters of the PM&T series.
