Author has written 12 stories for Harry Potter. I always wonder what to put in here, writing fiction is quite a lot easier than writing about yourself in my experience! I'm a 24 year old Brit who lives in Gloucestershire with a very understanding husband and a very flatulent cat (don't ask!!) I sail the good ship Severus and Hermione, although I came across it via the even more unlikely to happen and rare Severus and Ginny Weasley. I've been reading and writing fanfiction for nearly two years now, mostly reading it has to be said, but I have written a few half decent short stories which you are very welcome to read! I know the SS/HG genre (if you like!), is unlikely to happen in canon, but when you think about it, pairing someone as bright and vital as Hermione with Ron Weasley, as I suspect is inevitable providing that neither of them dies in the last two books, also seems a little far fetched. I cannot understand what either would see in the other, they are very very different indeed and saying 'opposites attract' seems to be pushing things a little far. I can easily see Hermione and Severus together, but as it's never going to happen I shall just have to write more, and dream... 09/01/05: I simply love the fact that JKR has imparted to us Snape's birthday - today! Makes him a Capricorn, much like myself... Some interesting stuff about me: I love the HP books but am not so keen on the films but I love the LOTR films but never really liked the books My favourite writers are JKR (of course), Jane Austen, Terry Brooks, Nick Hornby (High Fidelity, go and read it), Tony Parsons, Marian Keyes, Daphne Du Maurier, Thomas Hardy and the Brontes, although not Wuthering Heights. I have some very eclectic tastes, but I'm not really that fussy. Truth be told, if it's halfway decent, I'll read it. I love receiving reviews for my stuff, and it's a true pleasure to be able to dish them out in return. I always live by the adage 'if you haven't got anything nice to say' when doing this. I've never really had an all-out flame review, and nor do I want one. If my writing is bad, tell me, but please also tell me why. I have an English degree, so my spelling, punctuation and grammar is pretty good. If ever anyone needs help with this, I'm happy to lend a hand, and the same goes for 'Brit-picking'. I understand though, that in the USA the HP books are published with slightly different editing, where American words replace certain English ones, so it's not suprising that people write their HP themed stories with 'sidewalks' and 'blocks' and 'a couple minutes'!!! |
