He opened his eyes and to his horror found Hermione blocking the green light headed for him.

She fell on him. Voldemort's laugh filling the air. Then it stopped. Grief and an astonished cry. Potter killed him...he's dead...the war was over.
He sat there cradling her...Overwhelming sorrow etched in his heart.
"Hermione...I love you...," he whispered softly to her. He knew she couldn't hear him.
Still he said it anyway. It still felt wrong though. He should've said it sooner
