Poll: In the very near future, I plan to post some stories on FictionPress (a site kind of like this but exclusively for original stories). Since I'm seriously considering becoming a writer coming out of college, my question is: should I post stories on FictionPress that I'm planning to write when I become an author? The main pro for this is that I can get some neutral feedback as to how good the ideas are, but the main con is that people could easily just steal my ideas. What do you guys think? Vote Now!

Author has written 5 stories for Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Hi, guys! My name's epicsilverbullet, in case you haven't already figured that out. Yes, on my birth certificate, it says "epicsilverbullet". I've been writing stories on fanfiction for about ten months now, and reading and reviewing for a bit longer than that. In the whole scheme of things, that does classify me as relatively new to the site, but nevertheless, I hop you find my work enjoyable. That being said, I an fully aware that some of the work I have put out is somewhat below par. I know that some of you are aware of this, but what isn't acceptable to me is calling me out on it, at least, not in the ways some of you have. If you don't like it, don't read it. My bad work is not there to attract hate-messages, but to represent my progressive growth as a writer. I don't ask that you love everything I write. All I ask is that you respect it. On a lighter note, I am planning to be on fictionpress by the end of May 2013 or early June 2013. I hope this somewhat explains my extremely slow updating time, but I realize that it's hardly an excuse. When I finish up some stories on here, updating will get faster. As a general rule of thumb (since I'm sure a lot of the people who visit wouldn't like to hear me talk, even though I personally would), I have found it better to, instead of telling people things, showing them these things. I could definitely tell you why I find these quotes heartwarming (yes, even the Die Hard one) but I think we'd both appreciate it better if I left the interpretation up to you. So that is what I shall do. And again, it's not like I went on BrainyQuotes or something and looked up these, because that would make them instantly lose their value. Instead, these have come up at some point in my life and have implanted themselves in my brain, for me to share, but for you to explain to yourselves. (Although, Einstein does seem to pop up a lot. I suppose he was an extremely quotable person). "We are all a little weird, and life's a little weird, and when we find someone who's weirdness is compatible with ours, we fall in mutual weirdness and we call it love." -Dr Seuss "Yippee Ki-Yay, motherfucker!" -Bruce Willis, Die Hard (and Die Hard 2: Die Harder, and Die Hard 3: Die Hard With a Vengeance, and Die Hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard, and Die Hard 5: A Good Day to Die Hard) "Maybe the two worlds we lived in weren't that different. We both saw the same sunset." -Ponyboy in "The Outsiders", by S. E. Hinton "Sometimes, you just gotta say, 'What the fuck?'" -Tom Cruise, in Risky Business "I believe in karma. That way, I can do bad things to people all day and assume they deserve it." -Dogbert, from a Dilbert comic strip "And at its best, America has never been about facts! They've been about looking at a fact, and saying, 'No.'" -John Oliver, as a part of "The Decline of the American Empire" "For sale: baby shoes. Never worn." -Ernest Hemingway "'First rule of Fight Club: Don't talk about Fight Club. Second rule of Fight Club: DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB.'" -Brad Pitt, from Fight Club "The difference between school and life? In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson." -Tom Bodett "Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." -Christopher Robin to Winnie the Pooh "Cuz even the stars, they burn, Some even fall to the earth! We've got a lot to learn, And god knows we're worth it!" -Jason Mraz, from "I Won't Give Up" "'There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want.'" -Calvin to Hobbes, from "Calvin and Hobbes" "Smile, listen, agree... ...and then do whatever the fuck you wanted to do anyways." -Robert Downey, Jr. "'I wish snow was dryer- wait, no...then you wouldn't be able to throw snowballs at people. Wouldn't it be great if it snowed in summer? Actually, no, that would make it hard to run when you play baseball... Heck, the world is okay just the way it is.'" -Calvin to Hobbes, from "Calvin and Hobbes" "The ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that do." -Anonymous "Only two things are infinite: the universe, and human stupidity, and I'm not so sure about the universe." -Albert Einstein "I know not what weapons WWIII will be fought with, but WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones." -Albert Einstein "The hardest thing to understand in the world is the income tax." -Albert Einstein "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." -Albert Einstein "Do not worry about your difficulties in Mathematics. I can assure you mine are still greater." -Albert Einstein "I never think of the future- it comes soon enough." -Albert Einstein "You ask me if I keep a notebook to record my great ideas. I've only ever had one." -Albert Einstein "I've never said half the crap you guys say I have. But thank you." -Albert Einstein "Peace, guys." -epicsilverbullet |
