Author has written 13 stories for Host, Babylon 5, Edge of Tomorrow, Once Upon a Time, Alien: Isolation, Martian, Andy Weir, Doctor Who, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Lost. About Me: Not much to say really. I'm a guy that writes fanfic and I guess that's a big deal. But then I've never been much of a conformist so I love bucking the trend. I'd like to become an author one day and I see fanfic as a good way to become a more proficient writer. Granted a lot of fan fiction isn't all that great but that's not the point. It takes effort and dedication to write anything and put it out to the public to read. About two years ago I decided to stop putting it off and actually write something. I've learned a lot and I appreciate everyone who takes even a moment to read my stuff. A big thanks to Rune1975 , Blueheaven8910 , and Fallen-Autumn-Leaves who has been a big help in my writing process. I'm out of college now and work in the real world. Well its a world, not sure if its a real one. I don't have as much time to write as I once did, but I keep working away when time allows. Finished Work: On The Precipice - My first story. So why The Host? I'll admit I'm surprised I seized on a story from Stephenie Meyer. I'm not a Twilight fan by any means. But I do like the alien invasion trope and I've always loved Heinlein's Puppet Masters and The Body Snatchers. I did like the story set from the aliens' point of view and came up with an interesting idea for the story universe. As the story goes its a decent first try. I'm rewriting the beginning from some of my feedback. It's taking longer than I had hoped so I putting the link out here to the original story Eternity - I really liked the movie and I read the source novel - All You Need is Kill. As usual Hollywood had to go with a tacked on happy ending for the movie. I decided to take the next logical step and show what I saw as Bill Cage's ultimate fate. People have told me its a bittersweet ending and that was my aim. The Good Samaritan - Taught me a very good lesson - prequels are a pain to write. I was stuck trying to fit the current story into the limitations I had already established in On the Precipice, not fun. Lost Between Darkness and Light - A story idea I've had for years and finally got to write it out. It might be a little cliched, it's a simple dream/crossover story or is it? Pathways in Darkness - My follow up to On The Precipice. I manage to merge my story with the original characters of the Host and raise the stakes for everyone involved. Just what a sequel needs to do. Life Line - If you play Alien Isolation for 10 hours straight two things will happen. One, you will die a lot. Two, you will love the game. Probably one of the most intense games I've played in a long time. Oddly enough I was inspired to write a rather sad story bridging Alien Isolation with Aliens. Current Stuff I'm Working on: Upon Rising Storms My official tagline: Earth has fallen to the alien Souls. What remains of Humanity is at a crossroad. Do they attempt to make peace with the invaders and try to build a future or do they fight back and in the process become something terrifying? For Wanda and her friends, the choice is clear, but the path to peace will be difficult and dangerous. For Alex and his allies, the decision is easy but the results will be beyond their control. Because the Souls' oldest enemy have returned and neither Souls nor Humans will ever be the same. Well, I'm working away at my last Host novel. I know how it will begin and how it will end. Just need to work out the middle. Valor of the Suns It's been an idea I've had for a long time. It parallels events going on in the B5 universe, but in many ways should be able to stand on its own. Doctor Who Short Story I'm liking the new Lady Doctor. The newest series has been different and has had some great stories to tell. I'm working on a short story between Graham and the Doctor. Currently Reading: Nothing at the moment (sad to say) What I Like: Doctor Who - I've loved the show forever, but only recently tried the fanfic. My feelings on it are mixed. Babylon 5 - A forerunner to a lot of the current scifi shows this has been a favorite area of fanfic for me. Lost - Okay the ending sucked, but still one of my favorite Castle - Richard Castle / Kate Becket! Person of Interest - The show is just all kinds of awesome. Great action and characters. And most likely a very realistic view of the future of AI. The Expanse Series by James Corey - Loved the Syfy series (Now Amazon) A good book, a good story. Interesting characters and taking an existing idea or story and going in a new direction with it. That's why I love fan fiction (well at least well-written fan fiction) What I Hate: Too busy to hate... :-) |
