When Mac is shot by an unknown assailant Jack must revisit a painful reminder from his past. Digging into the truth of what happened will bring him and the team face to face with both old friends and forgotten foes.

AU - This is part present time life/mission and part origin story through memories, flashbacks, and true confessions. Some language, canon typical violence (ie torture, battle, fighting), medical stuff, and lots of cliffhangers. I am making this up as I go. I have gone into Mac-withdrawl, so I am going through and rewatching episode by episode and adding in my two cents worth. While the writers on the show are awesome sometimes we want more, right? Some will be close up of scenes in the story kinda getting into the characters' heads a little, some will be tags or maybe an AU bit here and there, who knows? ps. I am prone to whump Mac!
