Jack ruffling Mac's hair. I love that. So much. Also the gripping of the back of the neck, and grabbing his wrist or hand. It really conveys the bond they share and it's always a favorite part QuQ
Awww! Such a sweet chapter! I like that you wrote this a bit differently. Jack isn't quite so confident in his ability to comfort Mac. They're still figuring things out. Learning what their presence means to the other. It's wonderful.

"Are you okay?" - "Okay." I love that they're always more worried about the other. And Jack is always making fun of Mac when reassuring him. You write them so well, you add so much to what the show often only hints at. These scenes are always precious.

Haha, Jack's always poking fun at Mac's attire. I love it! I quite like Mac's typical dress-code. It's made funnier by the fact that I get a western vibe from it, so seeing Jack pick on him for it always makes me smile.

I don't think I mentioned this, and I honestly can't believe that I didn't; but I have to say that I love how Mac is uneasy around/almost afraid of, oxygen masks and the like because of Can Opener. That scene in Guard Your Heart was so heartwarming 3

I was about halfway through "Guard Your Heart" when I realized that maybe this story came before it, and even though it's probably not totally necessary to read it first I can be a stickler for stuff like that. Anyway, I teared up a little at the deal with the devil Jack makes to keep Mac safe and get him home. I wish the series acknowledged that more (they did in the first season, but was overall lacking in series 2) I just love the way you write both Mac and Jack, but especially how you show Jack worrying about Mac and moving heaven and earth to protect him. I really particularly like the scene in this chapter between Hammond and Jack about his relationship with Mac, Jack denying that Mac is his kid, even though we all know Mac is basically his kid. Thanks for writing this and sharing it!

This was a really great story! So well written, and I love hurt Mac! I'd love to see this rescue brought up in a story that takes place during the series - like if the other guys from Jack's Delta squad came back or something. Anyway, please keep writing, you've got a lot of amazing stories!

This is terrible, in that way which means it is amazing. Jack is just so obviously worried about Mac, as he clearly should be! And Mac is hovering between sensible and not, between life adn death, and now he's not even conscious! I'm so concerned, and I can't even click next chapter, because I'm not even at home!

Somehow I missed getting the alert for this chapter. Just looked back at my emails and saw the alert for the 4th chapter but not this. Curious.

Really liked this chapter and liked the conversation between Jack and Hammond. Just gotta say, whenever I see the names Jack and Hammond together like that, it makes me think of the Stargate: SG-1 characters Jack O'Neill and George Hammond.

Was wondering, how long would you say Mac's tour would be? And Jack's as well.

Would love to see Jack and Mac's first meeting with Thornton and their first days at the DXS.
