A Season 7 project. This story takes up Downton Abbey where Julian Fellowes left it, beginning midway through 1926. This is a serious attempt at a "real" season, embracing all the major characters, and most minor ones, and major/minor plotlines for each of them. There will be 10 episodes plus a Christmas Special. Rated T for allusions to mature subject matter.

What if Robert had squandered Cora's fortune before the Titanic sank? What if Matthew had inherited the money needed to save Downton before he became the heir? What if Tom had made something of himself before he met Sybil? An alternate Downton universe set in season one that explores how Sybil and Tom's relationship would have developed if they'd met under different circumstances.

My Secret Santa story for Mosteyn, as part of the 2017 S/T Secret Santa exchange organised by Yankee Countess. The prompt was: 1929 - Tom and Sybil plus family are living in the agents house and have been invited to stay at Downton for the festive season. Larry Grey turns up uninvited, feeling sorry for himself after the Wall Street Crash. Hope you like what I did with your prompt!

A country drive turns disastrous when a broken down motor leaves Mary, Matthew, Sybil and Branson as the title so aptly suggests.
