Since January 2011 the Fangreaders (http:///) have been chatting about and sharing their favourite SVM/TB fanfiction stories. What started with a few enthusiasts has grown into a community of over 200 fanfic readers and writers, stretching over several time-zones – and we just keep getting bigger and bigger! New members are signing up every week to take part in our online discussions in the Fangreaders chat room, the Fangreaders Chatroom Central blog site, Fang_Readers Community on LiveJournal, and the The Fangreaders Forum:Josephine's You may have heard of a previous Fangreader organised event – The Lemon Tart Awards. This event celebrated the sassy and sexy side of fanfiction. But this time we want to go all the way - Oscars Style! In celebration of 2 years of meeting new people and making new friends – the community is bringing you ‘The 2nd Annual Fangreader Awards’. The nomination process was reserved to these members only . There are approximately 270 members consisting of both readers and authors of the SVM/True Blood fandom. The nomination process was six weeks long. The Calculation and making the Public Voting Ballot After January 20th 2013, the nomination ballot was closed. All the nominations in each category were counted using a survey program. The top four fics with the most nominations (including any ties) went through to the Judicial Panel for review to ensure all requirements of : age of authors, ratings, and any requirements of the category. Any nominations not meeting these requirements were taken off the Ballot and the nomination next in line took it's place. Any categories not having at least 4 stories with multiple nominations were then sent to the Judicial Panel. The remaining nominations that were not in the top places were then added to a ballot and voted on by the Judicial Panel using this survey program. The nominations that received the majority of votes were then given the place on the Public Voting Ballot to ensure there were at least 4 stories per category. All stories on this Ballot have been nominated and seconded by another member or by the Judicial Panel. The Public Voting Ballot went live for the entire fandom to vote on 14th February 2013. This survey program will calculate all the votes, and the Judicial Panel will verify the results. The Results The results from this Pubic Voting Ballot will be announced May 4th 2013 on the Fangreaders Hall of Fame Site at 9pm GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) Special Thanks Thank you to all fanfic authors that keep our love for SVM/TB going.
