Author has written 4 stories for Skins, Once Upon a Time, Being Human, Merlin, and Glee.

Story Ideas

I know I've still got 4 unfinished fics, but I just keep getting these ideas. And as I think about them, I can't believe no one has posted stories like these yet! (To anyone feeling inspired, feel free to adopt these ideas! Oo! And pm me as I'd love to read them!)

1) Lord of the Rings/His Dark Materials [Legolas/Serafina Pekkala]

Not all the windows between the worlds had been closed, as Serafina Pekkala soon found out. It was too late however, she had flown too far into the new world, and that one window was now lost. With all the knives destroyed, how is she going to find her way back? Can she trust these strange looking, demonless beings? And of course, there’s that ring everyone seems so frightened of…

2) The Good Wife/Boston Legal/Suits [Will Gardner, Alan Shore, Harvey Specter]

It is the American Bar Association and all the best legal minds have gathered together in New York for it. With so many opposing lawyers in the same place at once, of course chaos will ensue. Especially when the state is barely large enough to contain their egos.

3) Once Upon a Time [Robin Hood/Regina/Daniel]

(Slight AU, whereby the episode In The Name of Brother doesn't happen)

David lived. Snow had crushed his heart to cast the curse, and yet, he lived. Snow had saved him. She had split her own heart into to two for him. Regina remembered it now - there was a way to save her true love; she could bring Daniel back. Her Daniel. Now she had all the more reason to get her heart back from her sister... But then... What about the man with the lion tatoo?

SYOC - As of now, I'm only looking for specific character types. PM me for the details if interested.

But if you still wish to send me an OC that doesn't fill that criteria, I am always open to side characters (unless they are really unique and well made that I get inspired to incorporate their subplot into the main story arch)

Rules-

  1. Please don’t have your OCs related to a main character in Merlin. If it’s someone obscure (say Tristan – the smuggler) go ahead. But no Arthur’s younger sibling, or Percival’s cousin, etc.

  2. While I do not want a Mary Sue/Gary Stu, please do not let the fear of making one restrict you. James T. Kirk by the high standards of many writers on this site would be considered as a Gary Stu after all. So don't be afraid to give your character the looks of Aphrodite, the intellectual prowess of Sherlock Holmes or the fighting skills of James Bond (not all at once of course). Just make sure there is a balance. The more talents you give them, the more flaws you could give them as well.

  3. Remember, this is set in the medieval times so please make your characters fit.

  4. I might make my own modifications to your characters should I choose them.

  5. If your character is selected, please try to be contactable. I tend to ask follow up questions as I write the fic

  6. Submit only by PM, with “Mutants and Magic: –insert character’s name–” as the title

  7. Be creative and have fun!

Form -

Full Name:

Nickname:

Position in Society (Royalty – you can make up the kingdom or use one already established in Merlin, Nobility – duke, count, baron, knight, etc, Commoner – trader, peasant, physician, innkeeper, etc ):

Appearance:

Celebrity portrayer (I only really need this if your description in the appearance section is not detailed enough. If it is, feel free to skip this. Oh and remember, the characters are adults! Give me people like Eddie Redmayne, Mia Wasikowska, etc, not teenagers):

Personality/characteristics (detailed):

Protagonist or Antagonist? (they can switch sides later in the story):

Mutant or sorcerer? (I'm open to Omega level mutants, but remember balance! Give the Omega level mutants more flaws or don't give them as many talents. For sorcerers, they have to be less powerful than Merlin and Morgana. I may accept one high priestess/priest as an antagonist though… Again, please balance them out. The more well versed they are in magic, the more flaws you give them)

mutants only* Ability (please elaborate on how they use it as well):

mutants only* How Their Ability Emerged/How They Discovered It:

sorcerers only* Human or Sidhe (or some other magical being in Merlin whom I've forgotten)?

human sorcerers only* Do they specialise in any form of magic? (i.e. healing spells, elemental spells, or no particular specialisation? Are they a seer? Again, remember balance!)

Power/Magic limitation or weakness:

Family:

History/Background:

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

Likes:

Dislikes:

Open to romance? (just state yes or no. I'll ask you for your preferences after I've finalised the characters):

Storyline Ideas for Your Character (try to have at least two):

Extra Info:

Would you allow me to kill off your character? (I'd probably give them a valiant death, if that makes it better in any way…)

Ideas for a better fic title (because Mutants and Magic really does sound pretty bad):

Character Example

Full Name: Yelena Thorn

Nickname: Lena

Position in Society: peasant – her parents are farmers

Appearance: She is a little tanned, and fairly petite, though she does have a very high level of muscle tone, and has an athletic build. She has messy dark brown hair that ends midway down her back. She also has quite a few bruises on her body and some on her limbs from when she gets into fights. She has almond shaped, piercing russet brown eyes that forever seem wary and alert. She has a somewhat roundish face with impish features with a small nose and mouth and distinct dimples when she smiles.

Celebrity portrayer: Samantha Barks

Personality/characteristics: She is observant, cooperative, informative, and attentive. She’s somewhat hardened, and has toughened up, from her years in the streets. However, she has an exceptionally high degree of protective instincts and is greatly concerned with the security of others. She is persevering and dedicated, is always impartial, and while not at all naïve, believes in second chances. She’s very straightforward, and tends lack a fair bit of tact. She's highly observant and very resourceful, allowing her to wriggle her way out of almost any trouble (though the morality of some of her actions may be questionable). She’s also has a knack for spotting inconsistencies and patterns. In spite of her small stature, she has grown very adept at fights making use of her agility and surroundings well and observing her opponents for weaknesses and patterns to predict their moves. Though she does have a good heart, she does her fair bit of making people think otherwise. She has no respect for authority and usually seems in a trouble of some sort, hence, even though she doesn't go out of her way to break the rules, she won't bother about them if she feels they hinder her. She's very brave, not that she fears nothing, but in the sense that, when push comes to shove, she will always find a way to overcome even the worst of her fears. She isn't afraid to take risks (and it sometimes comes and bites her back in the butt) and although she doesn't always follow what she's told, she does have the best interests at heart. She is quite uncouth and can be rather impulsive. So, though her courageous and daring nature is usually a good trait, she can make some self-destructive decisions. She's very athletic, and with all the trouble she gets herself into, she's become extremely quick and agile (useful traits to help make quick escapes).

Protagonist or Antagonist?: Protagonist

Mutant or sorcerer? mutant

mutants only* Ability (please elaborate on how/when they use it as well): Neurocognitive deficit - She has the ability to shut down the upper brain functions of any living creature upon contact, rendering them unconscious.

She tries not to use it too often so as not to arouse suspicion, though she uses it to get her/her brother and friends out of trouble when there's no other way. Usually, she'd have to make physical contact and will the person to pass out for her ability to work, but she wears elbow length gloves as a safety precaution at times when she's around large groups of strangers. The fingers of the gloves have been cut off, so she can make use of her ability quickly when needed.

mutants only* How Their Ability Emerged/How They Discovered It: Her family is really poor, so when she was younger, she and her elder brother often stole and pulled heists with a group of other urchins on the wealthier people to help her parents (though her parents disapproved, she persisted, but lied to them whenever they asked her how she got the money/food/medicinal herbs, etc). Once, during their confrontation with a guard (her brother and her diverted the guard towards themselves so their friends could escape with the loot to share with the themselves and the rest later), the guard passed out after grabbing her. Her brother is the only one who knows of her ability and has helped her with concealing it since (He managed to convince everyone else that the guard passed out after he had hit him on the head).

sorcerers only* Human or Sidhe (or some other magical being in Merlin whom I've forgotten)? NA

human sorcerers only* Do they specialise in any form of magic? (i.e. healing spells, elemental spells, or no particular specialisation? Are they a seer?) NA

Power/Magic limitation or weakness: She usually requires physical contact for her ability to work, and if she lets her guard down completely she may unwittingly cause someone who touches her to pass out. Of course, there's the usual limitation of over exertion.

Family:

Father - Gareth Thorn – farmer, He's a hard worker and a man of few words, most of his responses consist of grunts to acknowledge the other party. He cares for his family greatly and often feels like he's let them down by not being able to provide much for them.

Mother - Liesel Thorn – farmer, She is very caring and she's great with children. She's rather conservative and a typical protective mother. She's a little overbearing to all her children, but at the end of the day just wants them to be happy.

Elder Brother - Conrad Thorn - He is the leader of the group of thieves and often leads the heists. He's sort of like a robin hood. He's brave, chivalrous, and has nearly no respect for authority as he finds it corrupt and he hates how the poor is exploited. Hence when he was 12, he put together a group of street kids to steal from the rich, eventually bringing Yelena into the group of theives.

Younger Sister - Nadia Thorn - She has an extremely high level of intelligence, with an eidetic memory, and the whole family pretty much had most of their hopes pinned on her and her Lucan to get them out of their poverty when they grew up. However, she's very sickly and the older she got, the weaker she became. Even though Conrad and Yelena try to keep her out of their illegal practices, she often still insists on helping, giving advice when needed.

Younger Brother - Lucan Thorn - Nadia and him are the only ones even remotely educated, after a barren noble took pitty and eventually a liking to them when she saw them in the streets begging. During the winter, they are normally sent to stay with the noble, who takes care of them for the family. Lucan is kind, thoughtful, but very idealistic, not understanding how men can be capable of evil.

History/Background: Her parents are farmers, however the land they work and live on belongs to a wealthy trader who rents it out to them, taking most of their harvest as payment, hence the poverty, especially during winter. Their situation worsened when her sister became gravely ill. While she survived, she was greatly weakened after. Yelena's background mostly consisted of helping to provide for her family, and helping her brother with his heists

Strengths: Reconnaissance, street fights, she's very street smart, extremely quick, agile and stealthy (i.e. climbing trees, hiding in shadows, dodging, etc) – she's a thief after all, that said, she's an excellent pickpocket. She can rob almost anyone clean and be off long before he/she notices anything missing

Weaknesses: she is rather impulsive and tends to do things without thinking through its consequences, vindictive, she gets into trouble frequently, sometimes makes self destructive decisions, her petite stature, she isn't highly educated, She can be a bit obsessive with her endeavours, she can be quite uncouth and blunt

Likes: her family and friends, climbing trees, snow, lakes, ponds, swimming, forests, animals, stealing from selfish rich people

Dislikes: corruption, failure, being cooped up, droughts, being dubbed as a criminal, freak weather conditions, her family's landlord
