I'm a terrible person, in all honesty. I continuously ask you nice people to review, but I ignore more than half the reviews I get because they don't fit my thinking of what a review should be. Most of the reviews I get are just fine, and I haven't received a complete all out flame just yet, but something just irks me about a review if it only says "I loved this" or "great story" like the effort that I put into the chapter/fic just went down the drain because it's not worth a review that tells me why it's great, why you love it. Something that irks me even more is when it just says "update/sequel." Really? Why should I give it an update/sequel if I don't know why my fic is in dire need of an update/sequel? Another thing that irks me is when people ask a question, when it's already been answered by the A/N, particularly, "Is this a oneshot?" if the fic says "complete" and there's only one chapter it's probably a oneshot. To confirm this, maybe you should read the AN and not bother me so my wall can stay in one piece.

The above makes it seem like those are the only reviews I get... I have received AMAZING reviews, but it makes me just a tiny bit sad that almost all of my great reviews are from my friends, who became my friends because I gave lengthy analytical reviews first or because I asked them to review. My longest and most analytical review to date is from Song Six, to the first chapter of my story One-sided, which I only got because I had asked her to review a long time ago, and also partially because I think she felt bad after all the really, really long reviews I gave her and beta'ing for her :( I didn't want to guilt her into anything.

Of course, for a silly/crack fic, I don't really expect much from reviews, so my small frustration is not used on people whom review my crack fics. However, a simple "LOL" still frustrated me :(

I want to digress a bit, and there's two people I'm going to single out here: Reining3 and zotSOS. Reining gave me one of my first reviews, and a decent-sized one to boot, telling me what she enjoyed about the chapter, telling me what made her sad, she told me her thoughts, and she was the person to prompt me to continue writing Onesided (even if she didn't review the rest of the story, but that's not the point). She always gave me nice reviews, even when I didn't respond to my reviews. I just wanted to thank her for being a great friend, and for sticking with me all this time, even with my erratic posting. :D

Zot on the other hand gave me a few little weird reviews for my Kaldur Romance Collection, and I thought nothing of her reviews at first, but in case you hadn't noticed, she's my beta for Doctor Fake. Why? She's an awesome person, and a spectacular writer, she even left multiple reviews to a chapter fic which already had prior chapters (which is something just about no one does anymore), I started talking to her, and she actually went pretty in-depth in her reviews as she and I began reviewing each other's fics more and more; we have several PM's exceeding 100 messages, and I laugh every time I read any of them. :3

But, of course, how could I be thanking my reviewers without thanking Kiwisilence? Despite the fact that he and I only started reviewing each other's work because of a post I made in the Review Tag forum, I love his reviews the most. He reviews the most frequently and points out the most amount of things I intend to be seen, and even stuff I hadn't intended but makes sense anyways. So, I wanted to thank him for also sticking with me all this time, and for being a great reviewer. :)

This is something I said to another friend of mine, XxFallingxAngelxX: my more powerful reviews come from when I get a response. I'm human, I enjoy social interaction, so if I leave a long review and get a long PM back, don't you think that would prompt me to make even better reviews so we can have a better conversation later? (I'd also thank her, and several other people, in-depth, but I know not everyone has this long of an attention span) Of course, I only know what's happening on my side of the story, maybe there's something else going on in your life that's prompting you to not reply, I don't know, and I won't know unless you tell me. In my mind, if I'm well enough to upload/update, then I'm well enough to respond to PM's.

I know I haven't exactly reviewed anyone's things lately, but all this was a big part in my want to take a few of my hiatuses actually (do note that I was actually sick, and school does take up a lot of time); the fact that no one responded to my reviews, and the fact that my only good reviews came from my friends, were both backseat drivers for me to go on hiatus more than once. Do you know how pathetic it made me feel to know that only my friends were nice enough to give reviews of substance? On that note, I do love the reviews that they've given me, however, the fact still stands that it felt like I absolutely must go out and give a review making it seem like every letter in a chapter had some ulterior meaning so that in return I could finally get a review that told me the things I did right and wrong.

Did you know that recently I've purposefully left in or put in mistakes to see if someone will point them out? Did you know that I wait one week after posting my fic before I read it again to see if I've accidentally left a mistake that no one's pointed out? I am trying my hardest to improve my writing, and I need your help to do that, and aside from angrily asking you to review, I've tried just about everything my brain has told me to; so, this is me sadly asking you to review to help me. I honestly think I'm a terrible writer, it's why at the end of everything I post I ask for reviews: I'm not trying to make myself feel good or feel better about my depressing life, I'm trying to improve my writing for you, the reader; as a writer I want your experience to be the best it can be.

All of this is supposed to say that I'm a terrible person, but I really ended up putting the blame on you, my readers, and I'm not trying to, I just wish that more people put more effort into their reviews. The happiest time I had on FanFiction was when I knew that no matter what I uploaded KiwiSilence and zotSOS would both be there, with a nice, lengthy review, going into some detail about my fics. I understand that people won't read all of my fics, either because the pairing or plot line bores them, or they don't have the time, and that's just fine. Nonetheless, reviews make the FF world go around, but what's the point of having them when only about 5% of the people who've read the fic use the option, and even less than that percent use it to actually help the author move forward with criticisms and helpful comments?

All this said and done, I do appreciate reviews regardless of what form or length they are ...well, appreciate is too strong of a word. What I appreciate and love are reviews that tell me something I've done wrong or has a helpful tip more than reviews that tell what I've done right, and I'm okay with two-worded reviews.

With all that off my chest now, I predict that this will drive away most of my reviewers, but I'm okay with that, if it allows me to keep the amazing ones.
