It occurred to me that if Burt Hummel's personality changed because of his heart attack, Kurt would be devastated. I wanted to explore that and also explore the feelings they would experience if they almost lost each other. For Burt, it was his heart attack. For Kurt, I decided to write a suicide attempt.
