![]() Author has written 19 stories for Dragon Age. Thank you to all of you who read, review and fave! Since I always strive to improve my writing, respectfully critical reviews are not only welcome but much appreciated. I came to ffnet for Dragon Age but have been putting pen to paper since I was a kid, mostly for fun and for the entertainment of a few merciful friends. I read a lot of history, mostly ancient and medieval, and love folk tales, legends, and classic ghost stories. Some favorite authors are Tolkien, Isak Dinesen, Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Conan Doyle, Roald Dahl, D.H. Lawrence, George R.R. Martin, Sigrid Unset, and Cecelia Holland. I spent a good chunk of my 20's abroad working for an NGO, but these days I'm an office slave in the cubicle jungle. Stories are part of my rescue. About my stories: The Arrangement is a complete novel. It begins 5 years before game time, during Maric's reign, and goes through the Blight. In this AU, Ellie Cousland is the elder sibling and marries Loghain Mac Tir in a political marriage, an alliance that will be tested in intrigue, war, and personal conflict. My profile image of Ellie is by the very talented Schratty. The Path of Sorrows is a beginning attempt at getting the voice of some of the Inquisition characters while filling in a few moments from my bittersweet, very memorable first playthrough of the game. Most of the single stories here are about Idun Mahariel. I created her character using the Dalish Mage Mod, and since there was no origin story, decided that a bit of background was called for. Once I started writing, I just kept going. Dalish lore, hedge magic, Alistair, and Morrigan are major figures. My Idun favorites are probably "The Wolf at the Edge of Camp" (Alistair NSFW) and "The Coming Storm" (Morrigan). The stories can pretty much stand alone. My personal favorites of all of them are the shorts "Empty Eyes" and "Out of the Blue," based on Esra Surana, an elven spirit healer and Andrastian. These stem from my memory of trying to convince a street child to give up selling her trinkets for an afternoon of play. Both can stand alone. Dragon Age and all its characters belong to BioWare. |
