So I have just devoted almost all my free time (of which I have little) for nearly a week to reading this phenomenal piece of work! You have a wonderful talent, and your ability to reach inside these characters and make them so real is incredible. I'm sad to see that the last update was so long ago; I don't know your reason for stopping with this, but I hope whatever it is, your muse once again grabs on some day, and you are able to continue. Regardless of whether it ever gets finished, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed spending my time in Brand's world over the past few days, wonderful angst and all! Thank you for creating such a great story.

Just found your story, and I couldnt stop reading it.

So "I'll just read a chapter before bed" keeps turning into at least 3. You are a master storyteller :D I keep wanting to know what's next and the plot is keeping me on the edge of my seat. I don't think you should worry about your ability to make a good plot for the 3 year gap in Maps and Legends :)

I got behind in my story reading, so I apologize for not steadily reviewing! I'm catching up again. I just have to say this is still such an awesome story. Poor Brand though... can a human body really endure what she's endured? :)

I love all the back and forth from the past to the future that happens and how all the past is slowly revealed.

I do have to say I got lost in the chapter where Fergus arrests his wife. I can't figure out how the betrothed of Lord Whatshisface comes into play with incriminating his wife. Maybe I shouldn't have read it just before bed.

Still, such a great story! I hope Brand ends up with Anders.

Today I have discovered that I missed this chapter somehow. For a moment I hoped that Zevran would save the day, and we all will see Brand and Anders and Bryce running together into the sunset :( I hope you will finish this story one day, because here Anders' problems seem so much less horrible than in Maps&Legends, and this gives Undertow the potential for a happy ending.

Finally made it. Predictably, I'm very annoyed with discovering it before you were done. This is sort of like finding out about Farscape and watching the whole thing in one sitting only to land on the Season 3 cliffhanger. Which, true story, I totally did that. Apparently I have a knack.

There were so many little bits I would have highlighted in individual reviews had I not just been racing through the whole piece. It's all a blur of awesome right now so I can't be more specific in my praise. Off the top of my head so far I've really enjoyed how you incorporated Justice. Your story is AU enough that I'd sort of forgotten about him until you dropped him in there. Another thing I thought interesting is how Zevran is this sort of tangible pretense throughout the entire story because of the machinations and Alistair's drunkentimes, long before he's actually brought into the present part of the timeline. Despite not being one of the major players in this one, the idea of him was basically a weight hovering in the back of the earlier chapters for me because of everything going on. Neat trick that.

Most of the other reviewers have covered the general things; plotting, character voice and development, etc. I'd like to add that you have this knack for unexpected phrasing... I'd just be reading along and you hit me with a particularly delightful (or brutal or what have you) turn of phrase and it's just awesome to be so pleasantly surprised.

I know your muse on this one has been wandering a bit but I very much look forward to updates when it strikes your fancy again. I won't gripe about getting Maps updates in the meantime. :D
