Well hello there! The name's Amy. How d'you do? Good.

The main thing you need to know about me is that I love music and comedy. I know some people will be thinking well that's not saying anything everybody does but they are my passions. In fact, if you want to know me, just listen to 'Panic', 'Frankly Mr Shankly' and 'William It Was Really Nothing' by The Smiths and 'Daddy's Gone' by Glasvegas, they basically sum up my life. 'Frankly Mr Shankly' because I do want to leave and want to go down in musical history. 'William It Was Really Nothing' because I hate the tiny town that I live in "this town will drag you down" indeed. 'Daddy's Gone' because... well yeah. 'Panic' because I despair of a lot of modern music. I'm not going to be one of those really annoying people who go oh all music today is shit (looking at you Brother) but I think the mainstream/UK Top 40 stuff is, in general, awful and I am ashamed to be part of culture who think Justin Beiber makes good music. There are of course loads of excellent bands around today, just read NME and you'll see pages of talent, it's just that very few people I know have any idea who any of the artists are (I say people I know and not my friends because I've devoted the last couple of years of my life to improving my friends music tastes.) I worship David Bowie, I think he is the best thing to ever happen to music. I think Morrissey has the most beautiful voice in the world, I think The Who and The Rolling Stones revolutionised music far more than The Beatles ever did and I think Oasis made the best stonking sing-along stadium guitar music ever. I adore it when Music and Comedy combine (thank the Lord for The Mighty Boosh and Flight of the Conchords.) As for comedy, I'm perfectly happy watching panel shows on Dave. I think when they have good comedians on the panel, they can be truly excellent. Russel Howard, Frankie Boyle, Dara O'Brien, Hugh Dennis, Michael McIntyre, Paul Merton, David Mitchell, Lee Mack, Jason Manford, Jimmy Carr, Bill Bailey and Phil Jupitus are all truly excellent. I realise there aren't any women in that list, I'm not trying to be sexist I just genuinely have never come across a female comedian I have found consistantly funny. But more than panel shows, I love weird comedy. Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt, Ross Noble, Bret McKenzie and Jemain Clement... that's where the real genius lies. I want to be a comedian. I want to be a rock star too (I can sing and play guitar... a bit...) but MORE THAN ANYTHING I want to be a comedian. I have the jokes, hopefully they're funny, it's just that at 14 there's not much I can do about it. The rest of the stuff on here is just my likes, so you can get excited if we have stuffs in common. It's also more light hearted. Promise. XD

I have recently become rather obsessed with Hollyoaks. Bloody hell, writing for a daily soap is hard, especially one where the spoilers are never even right! I really love Brendan Brady, he's such a great character, and poor Ste... I do so hope they get a happy ending. I'm probably the only major fan of both 'Oaks and Boosh, but if there are any others: Don't you think Brendan and Ste's relationship resembles Lindsay and Pip's (Stockholm Syndrome) in many ways? Or is it just me?

NME saved my (musical) life. Wednesday is the best day of the week when I come down the stairs and am greeted by another issue in all its stonkingly good music glory (I subscribe xD.) I recommend it to you all.
