Author has written 43 stories for Bones, and Castle. I am an unabashed fangirl. I will tell people straight up what my favorite shows are, and warn you if you're going to watch an episode with me that I might seem a little deranged. I'm also creative in a way my family of scientists has never understood. I paint my nails with fun patterns, I think that there's nothing more important in life than presenting yourself properly which means caring about how I look, I do arts and crafts, making things that are actually useful like jewelry boxes and candle holders, and I cook elaborate things. But most important for this website is that I think that words are the greatest expression of imagination. I believe that you can craft a picture, and evoke emotions better with words than with any other medium. That's why I love tv so much because it's someones words come to life. I see the stories I write in my head and spend time getting them down on the page. But realistically there's only so much time to devote to it. I'm not getting paid for it other than in a self satisfaction way, what you see in my stories is what I saw in my head. When it comes to one-shots I devote as much time to them as they hold my attention. Until I see on the page what saw in my head I'll work on it, but I don't stress over it. As a result some of my stories are better developed than others. I share them here because I like seeing what other people do with my favorite stories and I feel like it's my duty to share my own thoughts with the community. In my multi-chapter fics I still write in a one shot format. For me the story is about the important points I don't need to see every moment of a story for it to be possible (another reason I love TV, because things happen beyond the 44 minutes every week). It irritates me when stories get mundane and lose momentum in the itty bitty details that we know happen but don't actually need to see. Finally I switch the points of view between characters all the time, I think it adds more depth to the story. It's taken me a long time to realize this pattern in my own writing so I thought I'd share. As far as reviews, I love them and they're unbelievably validating, but I also don't think that you have to review everything you read or every chapter of a fic. It took me a long time to leave reviews and I still only leave them when the fic/chapter does something for me and then I let the author know. As a result I don't expect reviews for everything I write, I don't expect them all to be positive, and I try to learn from all of them, but sometimes something I wrote doesn't deserve reviews and it doesn't get them and I'm not bothered by that. I just move on to the next tale my brain is spinning. At the end of the day I write for me and publish it here because I think you would like it. Please tell me what you think of anything I write, but remember that I write for me so if you don’t like it, find it confusing, or dislike my mistakes let me know but I reserve the right to leave it as is. It's fan fiction people and it's never going to be perfect. |
