After much internal debate, I have decided to delete my story, To Run With Theseus. My premise for the story was decent - admittedly not my best but I had hopes that I could manage a good story out of it. Basically, I wanted Soda to wear the shoes of responsibility, shoes normally worn by Darry. However, in the ensuing days, weeks and months of starting the story, my own life went onto a roller coaster ride that I am still trying to steer back on course. Sadly, like shattered glass... sometimes not all the pieces are found while others are too damaged to use.

While I appreciate all the reviews of support, it was the last annonymous reviewer who made me realize that this indeed wasn't my best work, that the story was far fetched and well out of character for the Curtis boys. One of my biggest pet peeves is having to tolerate a writer who takes the cherished characters and twists them into someone they are not. In that manner, I had twisted the characters - namely Ponyboy - into a weaker person than he is. Granted, there may be readers of my work who find I am too narrowminded... perhaps too overly protective of fictional characters that I don't even own to be so judgemental, but I do not apologize for it. In my mind, they are who and what SE Hinton created them to be. In that matter, they are perfect in their own imperfection. For me to twist them is just as wrong, hense the deletion.

Perhaps in the future I will be able to tackle this story again, maybe fix it and repost. Afterall, I still need to reveal what happened to Darry, now don't I?
