I don't know whether to hate or admire the way how even when your stories have a happy ending, they leave me feeling overwhelmed and a bit sad. You're a great writer; you portray each character in such a realistic and honest way, all their thoughts, dialogue, and actions - my heart tugged for Ponyboy throughout the whole story.

Your stories are wonderful, so in tune to the original novel and its characters, so complete from start to finish. They have the perfect amount of emotion, tragedy, friendship and brotherly bonding, humour, resolve, and hope.

I don't know if you're even on here anymore, but I just wanted to let you know that people still discover, read, and appreciate your stories (or at least me.)

A series of odd events led me back to The Outsiders this week. I must have read the original book 30 odd times back when I was a freshman in high school, and I had it saved (worn out cover, broken bindings and all) in the basement. Earlier this week I came across a $5.00 copy of the movie and decided to purchase it. I actually never cared for the film version, I thought it left out the real theme in the book, the story of the brothers. But I bought it anyway and it wasn't until I opened it that I realized that Coppola had re-worked the film and added all the bits I had been missing. I still find the movie a bit lacking, but I certainly appreciated the new and improved version.

I first came to fan-fiction a few years ago when another story about brothers captured my attention. This week I decided to check out fiction for The Outsiders and came across one of your stories. I am not always the best reviewer. I am not a writer and sometimes lack the motivation to write a review. I was enjoying this story and hadn't really thought much about whether or not I was going to review until this last chapter.

It takes a lot for a story to make me tear up, but the paragraph about Pony visiting Johnny's grave did me in. The thought that there was an impersonal marker on a dirt grave, well just hit home for me. It brought to mind the passing of people in my own life and the sadness of the first time seeing their name on a stone marker.

Anyway, I thought I would tell you that I have enjoyed your take on the Curtis Family. It seems very much in character with S.E. Hinton's original story and I am enjoying this opportunity to re-visit some of my favorite characters.

Even though I was about to fall asleep(from lack of sleep not you story) I had to finish this! I couldn't go to bed without finishing it. I loved it! Nice job putting the end of the book in the one chapter! Great job.

Aww. i wonder if Pony ever lets Darry read it...
