Hello, fanfic writers and lovers alike. My name is Ira Dwight Sutton Jr. whom you may all know as bluethunder25. You know, some of you who have come onto this site have probably written your fair share of fanfics in the past, some good, some bad, at least according to those who read them. But have you ever asked yourself, "what is a fanfic?" Some say it's a story from a favorite show or movie done in a person's own imagination and image, others say it's just a way of wasting time when you're bored. As for me, I believe a fanfic is creating the stories that we imagine from our favorite shows or movies that we sometimes wish would happen, but never do. We make these fanfics because inside of us is a director, a media magician if you will, whose once in a while, raises their magic wand and produces magical and unique stories that capture the imagination of the readers and gives them a new outlook on the stories and characters that they either grew up with or have just been introduced to. Certainly those of us who come onto this site and make our stories feel like little directors making our own movies, but like real directors, it is our duty to come up with special and unique stories that can entertain a multiple array of audiences. I myself hope to be one of those people. The time of mediocre storytelling and half-ass writing is gone. The time has come for innovation; meaning crisper stories, more complex characters, unique and diverse worlds, and tons of twists and turns that could just make your head spin. Today, here on Fanfiction.net, I invite you to come along to dive into a new era where we will strive to entertain ourselves and you with our cleverly written stories labored with our blood, sweat and tears. |
