Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. 2009 SUPERMAN MOVIEVERSE FANFICTION AWARDS NOMINATIONS Best Overall Short: Frantic, Best Fluff: Anchovies on Pizza and Proximity, Best Angst: Redemption, Best Humor: Frantic, Clois Romance: Proximity, Best overall Author. Those were the categories that made the final nomination list, however I didn't win anything, but that's alright! I never started writing or started posting things I've writen with the intent to win anything, just for people to read it and share their thoughts. So thanks to everyone who ended up nominating me anyway! Most importantly, congrats to those fine authors who did win! About me in general: I'd just like to preface my personal info on my profile by stating this: In mid January 2011 my husband and I welcomed our first child into the world. We have a daughter and for me, giving birth is something I'll never forget. It was quite the ordeal. That being said, I am commited to the longer fiction "Proximity" that I am still working on. I haven't abandoned it nor have I forgotten about it either. The later part of my pregnancy was a bit rough, and now that I'm adjusting to motherhood and running on little to no sleep, I just ask for patience for the updates. I know exactly what I want to write, but I still have to write it. Some days all I feel like I do is feed the baby, change diapers and cuddle her when she's fussy, which doesn't leave much room for anything else that I can't do with one hand. I do promise, when I am able to write, I will and also update when I can. However, if you read it and enjoy what you're reading, words of encouragement for me to keep plugging along and rejuvinate my creative juices are always appreciated! I'm not a writer, but I moonlight as one. Gosh it would be nice if I could do it for a living, but what can I say? I'm fully aware that there are far more tallented writers than myself, but it's enjoyable for me. I'm a realist. I have been captivated by the Superman genre since I was young. Perhaps we're all still children at heart, I'd like to think so and maybe that's why we all know and love this character so dearly. So curl up with a cool drink in the shade (if it's hot) or with a steaming mug of tea and a warm blanket if it's chilly where you are and slip away into some fiction, whether it be mine or someone else's. I truthfully hope that if you continue to read what I've written, that if you have the time, take a few moments to provide feedback. I do read them all...and probably will respond to you. Another sidenote: for those of you who have read my chapters and actually are looking forward to another (Belive me I'm supremely flattered if you feel that way), I post the new chapters when I can. I'm impatient yet perplexingly meticulous. I cannot stockpile chapters for a steady release, my impulsivity doesn't let me work that way. When the muse hit, it hits, when it doesn't...well, sorry. I do selfishly enjoy the little flags that pop up in my email that are an alert to a review but truthfully, the reviews serve two important purposes: one, they give me an idea what parts of the plot people are enjoying, and second, they provide some constructive criticism. Thanks again to all of you out there who actually read my scribbles. These days with the world's economy in the toilet, we are all in need of some escape from reality of the world around us. An escape from the duldroms and mundane is why I write, and perhaps that's why you read. I do geuinely hope to provide a little escape from the stressors of every day life at least for a little while. |
