Update for 2020

Hello my to all fanfic readers both old and new! For the start of the update I want to say how honoured and humbled I am that after all these years there are still people out there reading and enjoying my fics. For those of you who are new to my profile/fic, and of course to those of you who are still with me after all these many years, know how grateful I am for your support. Though I know my old fics leave a bit to be desired (the days before I learnt how to do my own editing/proofing were not my finest lol), yet despite the bad grammar/spelling/etc I am so very pleased that you still add me to your favourite authors/fics/groups, and I hope that my future works will be as enjoyable to you as my past ones have been.

I know it's been a long long long time since I last updated here - nearly 3 whole years in fact - and even longer since I last posted anything, so I figured it was high time to put something up here in my profile so that you would know that I haven't disappeared into the void of no return. Allow me to apologise for going AWOL, a lot has been going on with me the past couple of years (turning 50 this year was just 1 of those things :P), but I promise you that I haven't abandoned you - in fact if all goes well I am planning to be post something again before long ... fingers crossed anyway!

Oh yes, before I forget ... I have been informed that some of my finished fics may have some of the chapter ends cut off. Long ago when I originally ULed them to FFN I used a demo programme that I didn't realise had a word count limit and it ended up cutting off the end parts of some of the chapter(s). As I don't have the time to go through all my old fics I am asking anyone who comes across this problem (and you'll know it when you see it as it's say 'RTF to HTML DEMO' somewhere in the text) to please contact me via PM and let me know which story/chapter(s) you found them so I can fix them right away. Much appreciated!

Now some of you might have noticed that a few of my fics have disappeared ... please do not fret as there is good reasons for why I have done this. 1 of them I wasn't all that happy with how it was written, the 1st being 'First Impressions.' Though I love the Pride and Prejudice aspect of the fic, the attempt to combine both book and film wasn't working out the way it should have so for now I've pulled it to do some revamps at a later date. As for the other fic (that being 'A New Life' which is a fic that I actually started about 17 yrs ago in fact) I realise now that I bit off more than I could chew with my original goals for it. I do love the concept though and as it was (and still is) very popular with my fans I intent to restart it asap, though this time in a different way, so if you remember the fic at all please bear with me during the re-writing process. I will try to have a first chapter uploaded as soon as I can. Since I haven't the time, energy, or patience to re-read all the books or watch the films (nor honestly would I even if I did), I figure re-reading my older fics will be far more helpful for me to remember enough to be able to get back into the writing swing, and besides as I have always written AU fics anyway it really won't affect me in the least if I don't stick to conventions.

On that note, I just want to remind you all of my writing styles/etc here and now ... that way I can hopefully avoid the worst of the 'but it didn't/couldn't/wouldn't happen that way!' gripes/flames/etc. And as to what that style of writing is, well here you go ...

1. First and foremost I am, and always shall be, an AU writer. There are times when I do include canon things when/where needed, but only when/where needed for the sake of the fic's plot(s). Far as I'm concerned if I wanted to read a canon fic then I'd go re-read the books. I firmly believe that the entire point of writing (and reading) FAN BASED FICTION is because myself and my readers aren't 100% satisfied about how the books/films turned out which is why I love AU so much. I can play in JKR's world all I want and alter things at whim which I do very often, so if you can't take reading AU then I'm not the writer for you, sorry about that!
2. I adore writing dark, angst-filled, plot-driven fics so expect that there will be twists and turns whenever possible.
3. I DO NOT write 'sexy, smutty fics.' Doing hard-core sex scenes when writing on an 'adult RP group' is one thing (something I have done in the past and do enjoy when the time calls for it), but writing sex/smut for the public eye is totally another cauldron. I do not want to be known as a 'smut writer' be it in my fics or in my original works - I know smut sells better but ... it's just not me ... no see I prefer tastefully written love scenes for my public audience. Heck, it took me 3 days just to write the scene between Sev and Remus in 'An Experiment Gone Wrong,' and that is as hard-core as I'm likely to ever get again so do not expect more from me.
4. Pairings will usually adhere to the ones I normally write (though I'm fond of throwing in odd pairings now and again so don't be surprised if you find some). For those that may not be familiar with my work my normal pairings are: Sev/Remus, Sev/Remy/Siri, Harry/Draco, Siri/Peter (for Peter his pairings will almost always be in AU/Marauder days/Time Travel (1 of my all time favourites)/pre-betrayal times), Ron/Hermione, and smatterings of Canon/OCM - Canon/OCFs.
5. As for MPREG - I know some readers have issues with the topic and have/will include MPREG at times in my fics, however know that I will never write a fic based solely around it. When I do include MPREG in my fics I tend to only indicate that a male is, hopes to be, or has been pregnant, but it is always as a result of a spell/potion/or some other viable (or wonky) situation that got them that way. Also any 'births' are never actually written, only assumed that the birth(s) happened at some point, so no worries about having to stumble across any squicky birthing scenes, not gonna happen trust me! :P

Whew! Now that I've got all that out of the way I will end this years update with saying that again I am beyond over the moon that to this day there are still those who are favouring my work, and though I apologise profusely for the horrid editing of my earlier fics, thank you for reading them anyway. I hope you have enjoyed my fics as much as I have enjoyed writing them, and will equally enjoy what's yet to come. This year marks ... if memory serves me correctly ... my 20th year writing HP fan-fiction whew! Though I have taken breaks over the years due to life's curve-balls, I will try not to stay away so long this time. I miss writing ... and most importantly I miss my readers so thank you to all fans for bearing with me during the down-times, and I hope you will stick around and see what's yet to come!
