Author has written 7 stories for Emergency. I guess since I'm getting traffic I should update this. I started writing FanFic long before it had a name (try 197??). I used to rewrite ending to shows I and my friends watched or wrote scenes with them included or changed something we didn't like. Emergency was one of my favorite shows. I watched it when ever i could, and that meant when I wasn't working, training or out of country. (I missed all the 5th season on because of working at a convalescent center as a CNA or in Scotland with my new husband.) I am soo looking forward to seeing those episodes for the first time. I have adult children, keep inheriting misplaced teens and have dozens of four and two legged animals which share the same address as myself and my now 'old' husband (who retired from the USMC after 22 yrs of service.) I have been a member of the SCA for 20 years and am still active in the local group. I am a brand new grandmother and will (hopefully) be recertified as an EMT-B after the first of the year 2009. As I am writing my first story on this board I am taking my class so the writing might be a little slow at times. I am also in my senior year of college (2008) for a BS in Informatics and my junior year for a BA in Geography. Sooooo I am busy. I also have been recently diagnosed with Erosive (inflammatory) arthritis and have been struggling with fibromyalgia for 15 years. I have other stories in the planning and piece stages so keep tuned if you like my work. Till then, Enjoy and thanks for the great feedback!! Update! I am now a twice over Grandmother! My oldest's boy will be 1 in Oct 2009 and My youngest, who is currently in Japan serving in the Navy has just become Daddy to a little girl. Update 2012 Well, after nearly 20 yrs of not working in the Medical field while I followed my Marine around the world, I have for the last 10 been back in my first love. I have been a EMT again now for nearly 5 yrs but it looks like I may have to finally give it up permanently. My doctors have decided I have Psoriatic Arthritis on top of the Fibro. My hands are slowly crippling and I'm losing the mobility in my wrists and ankles. I find turning things, holding things and lifting things getting harder and harder as my finger joints stiffen permanently. Even though I'm on all the meds you see in TV adds, nothing seems to be slowing this down...sigh... In a week I'll undergo joint replacement surgery and then I have to decide if I want to hang up the towel or continue to fight to work a few more yrs. Although I love what I do, I have to think about the care I can give my patients. The knowledge is all there but the ability to do even simple tasks becomes harder each day. I really am living the bible verse.."The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." I have my degrees but am so far running into the problem of companies not wanting to hire a half crippled 53 yr old. My family is pushing me to just write on a full time basis and to publish. They even bought me Dragonspeak for my computer. We'll see... If God is truly closing this door, I am looking for that window... I am receritfied and am helping with the training of current classes. I am finishing up my degrees and hope to graduate in May 2010. And I'll be 51 for graduation! |
