![]() Author has written 15 stories for Tomb Raider, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Vampire Diaries. Hello, Hola, Kon'nichiwa, Marhabaan, Zdraveĭte, Zdravo, Kamusta, Aloha, Hallå, and so on and so forth. My name is Haley, also known as HallowedMaiden, and if you are wondering why I have 'hello' written up there in nine different languages, it's because I love language itself, I love manipulating language and words, I love finding out how different words play with each other, how they can change a sentence by their absence or addition. I enjoy learning new words, and I enjoy using old words in new ways. I love finding out the emotions I can bring out of people with just words on a page (or screen), and I love painting a picture within a story only using the beauty of words. Language is a very powerful tool with endless possibilities and no limitations. A person can write any way they want, there are no rules, and I live best in a space that has no creative limits. I enjoy writing because it gives me an outlet...to create a framework so I can understand my own thoughts and perhaps create systems to understand them further. It helps build the infrastructure of my own mind...gives me a foundation with which to bounce my thoughts off of tomorrow, the next day, or next year when I am thinking back on something I wrote. I started writing when I was in elementary school, but I didn't start writing fanfiction until I was in my senior year of high school. I have found that writing also helps me with my anxiety and depression, because when I write about characters, I can see mental issues and psyches without feeling attached to them, and it is a good tool to objectively see my own problems. Writing characters for me is about personal exploration, about finding that piece of yourself that you can manipulate into that character, and then sometimes none of yourself goes into a character. Instead, you pull ingredients from other aspects of your life...maybe a gas station you went to, or a sidewalk you walked down...or a forest you were in...or a funeral you were at. Anything and everything can go into forming and building a character. Scene writing and descriptive writing are also beautiful aspects because you can elevate a normally mundane experience into something profound, something with a higher meaning...it brings that moment into focus, into a clear bright picture for the reader to digest and surround themselves with. About me ~ I enjoy quiet spaces, walking alone in a city, reading books, lighting incense, immersing myself in music, discovering music, writing, organizing, procrastinating, watching stand-up comedy, film, thinking, sleeping, dreaming, learning, writing about learning, learning more about writing, history, culture, being challenged, overcoming challenges, believing in myself, learning to be okay with not believing in myself, love, life, and a million other things that don't even have words to describe them yet. I am an INTP, an Aquarius, a Slytherin, a generally introverted person, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and I take on a neutral standing on everything as a rule until I can objectively choose a side. My OTP's are Sparrabeth (Jack Sparrow/Elizabeth Swann), Snermione, Harry/Luna, Lara Croft/Kurtis Trent, and Klaroline. I am a fan of Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, comic books, Harry Potter, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaiman, Black Mirror, strange books, strange movies, anything outside of the mainstream, 8-bit soundtracks, orchestral music, guitar solos, Tarantino films, escapism, EDM, world music, strange clothing, costumes, photography, understanding that life happens sometimes, mistakes can be overcome, and people can grow beyond their past faults. I love video games, making video games, I love computers... I just love anything that can be entertaining enough, that can sync enough with my whirlwind hurricane mind to entertain me for more than five seconds. Thank you for checking out my stories. If you choose to Follow, Fave, Rec, and/or Review any of them, even better. I love hearing from readers, so please don't be shy to leave a friendly review and/or PM me! I post stories on the following: Archive of our Own Fanfiction.net Wattpad Current Stories ~ I am actively working on Scythe's Song and Prison of the Mind. I MAY continue Gravestone, but I am not sure about that yet. You can look here for any updates on anything I write. :) |
