Author's Note: Just a little thing I wrote a long time back to help get rid of my writer's block :D

'Lister, you gerbil-faced smeggy little smegger,' Rimmer said as he marched into the sleeping quarters.
In reply, the scouser looked up briefly from the tattered looking notebook he was hunched over at the table.
'Tell me, Lister,' Rimmer began, folding his arms, 'What, to you, does 'all hands red alert' mean?'
Knowing that the chances of Rimmer leaving the room any time soon were slim, Lister sighed and put the pen behind his ear, 'Eh?' he rubbed the bridge of his nose.
'All. Hands. Red. Alert.' Rimmer said, very slowly and calmly, as if talking to a difficult child from an alien race, 'What. Does. It. Mean.'
The scouser rolled his eyes and sighed heavily, 'That all personnel should be on hand when the red alert siren sounds. There you go, text book answer and everythin','
'Then why,' Rimmer continued, 'Did you not come to the cockpit pronto like everyone else?'
'Rimmer, one: everyone else is the Cat and Kryten, two: The Cat was already in there cos he's on watch, an' Kryten specifically told me he was gonna give the place a Hoover, and three: I know the all hands red alert was called by you,'
'And you know that because?' Rimmer challenged, raising an eyebrow.
'I know that because no one took any notice,'
Rimmer made a face.
Lister gave Rimmer an exasperated look and then went back to writing in the notebook.
'What are you writing?' Rimmer asked, hovering over his shoulder.
'Poetry, okay, poetry,' Lister replied agitatedly, scratching his nose.
'Poetry? You're writing poetry? About what?'
'Rimmer, why d'you wanna know, eh? It's about Kochanski alright?'
'Why?'
'Because-' Lister rubbed his forehead, 'Just leave me alone Rimmer, yeah?' the scouser sighed and made his way out of the room before Kryten, who was standing in the doorway, even had a chance to announce lunch.
Rimmer looked down at the notebook. He knew he shouldn't read it, but then Lister shouldn't have left it there should he? It read:
To my babe Krissie, on what would be your birthday,
The were no words
When I learnt that I'd lost you,
That you were gone forever and there was nothing I could do,
That no amount of apologies, whishes, prayers could save you.
There were no tears
Not enough to express the pain,
Though I'd cry a thousand tears if it'd bring you home again.
There were no answers
When I asked why and how,
Why me and you, and how am I to go on now,
But there are words now, and tears, and these words I'm trying to write to you now,
As my tears hit the page, and it seems an age since I heard your voice, saw your smile,
But all the while,
While I'm writing this, I can hear that voice and see your smile and feel that kiss
Those memories will be with me, every time that I read this.

With a heavy sigh, Rimmer massaged the H on his forehead. He still loved her, he still smegging loved her. A woman he'd only gone out with for a few weeks, a woman who had dumped him. After everything Rimmer tried to smegging do for the man, he was still thinking about She of the Pinball Smile.
Author's Note 2: Well, that's it. Review and let me know what you think! :D
