My eyes fluttered open.

Nothing.

I saw Nothing.

I knew my eyes were open. I could feel that. I could feel the top lid, batting down onto my lower. But still, there was nothing.

I new I wasn't blind. I couldn't be. Because I couldn't hear anything either.

Nothing.

I moved my hand up to my face and touched it, moving over my eyes and down my nose. I then touched my soft lips. I was certainly a physical being.

I moved my hands to my stomach, and felt over it. I moved to the left side, and pain rippled through my body. I recoiled, and began to cry. The pain. It was like dieing. Again.

I remembered now.

Jake. I would never see him again.

Because I was dead.

And so was he.

I tried to look at my hands. There they were. Slender and young.

I looked down at my body. I had no clothes on, yet I didn't feel any hotter or colder than I might of. If I had been alive, that is. I was bruised, a sickening purple, from my dislocated knee up to my hip bone. I was sure that it would be bruised up my waist too, if my eyes could see through the mess of blood and bone I saw instead. There were chunks of purple skin here and there, but the rest was mostly exposed fat and tissue, and several ribs poking out from places that weren't natural. I could tell, from what my eyes were now showing me, that I was dead because of the dragon.

I tried to sit up, but a twisted, broken spine stopped me. More pain rippled. More agony commenced.

'No', I thought, 'this is worse than death'.

But,

I was dead.

I wondered if people would miss me. Maybe they would be crying now. Kneeling at their beds, praying to gods that they wouldn't normally pray to. Praying for me to be in a good place.

Where was I?

I could see nothing.

But then there was a feeling. I felt lonely. Uncomfortable. Almost claustrophobic.

There was a new thing about the place I was in. There was a small wind on the back of my neck. I shivered and turned my head, cautiously. There was nothing.

But there was.

I could sense movement. Not in an animalistic way. But I knew something was out there. Closing in on me. Coming closer, and closer, and closer still.

I knew it was coming at lightening speed, ready to come upon me.

But how far away was it? Miles? Kilometres? Metres? It could be right standing behind me, breathing on my neck. Reaching out to me.

But something was coming.

I knew that.

But what was it?

The wind increased, and I screamed, before breaking into tears. I was scared. For almost no reason.

There was something moving. In the darkness. Closer, and closer, and closer still. Moving at lightening speed. Ready to come upon me.

Ready for kill.

Did you like it? I thought it was good, but that's probably because I wrote it. It was short, I know, but I ran outta ideas. It was meant to be dark. I think I told you that. And I'm pretty sure you've all figured out who was talking. Well, if you didn't figure it out, it was Briar. Please review!!!!!
