Author's Note: Written out of boredom, this is a conversation (pretty much one sided) between Cyrus of Team Galactic and Barstow (which is what I named the girl player character of Diamond). It's supposed to be the start of Cyrus falling for her, if he's capable of that. Takes place in Celestic Town.
Don't own anything, Pokemon belongs to Nintendo, and no profit is being made here.

A world without strife.
No more pain, none of this senseless violence and overwhelming hate. No longer will people destroy each other emotionally and physically for the sake of doing so. In my world there will be nothing of this sort. Imagine the peace of it all. Can you, Barstow?
Yes, actually, you can.
You're young and inexperienced, but in this world you have still seen the pain. The Pokemon at the Lost Tower, the graves, the stories of their deaths brought on by harsh battles… Such things weigh upon you. You want to take the humans remaining pain away. I see it in your eyes.
You know I only want to set things right. It is too late for this world, Barstow, it really is. I know it is, I'm double your age. My new world, however, could be made without this strife. Imagine it, child. The adults are too blind to see, but you're young, you can see it, can't you? Life without pain. No violence. Never again will a child cry for its mother because a moment of earthly hatred took her away.
Or a father, you say. I see, you've lost him.
Just imagine a world where no child would have to go through that. That's why we need Pokemon and people. Sacrifices have to be made. I'm sorry, don't cry, I didn't mean to bring up strife. One day you won't have to bear this pain. No one will. My new world won't have the people who took him from you. My new world will not have criminals and hooligans. There will only be peace and purity within it, compassion and joy.
What?
Will it have you?
Barstow, you're too young to join. You're surprisingly young for someone with five badges. I don't make many exceptions to my own rules. That's how society got messed up – the rules stopped applying to everyone and certain people got away with anything. I try to be fair, however.
You have never done anything cruel and hateful that I know of. You battle my organization, but you don't command your Pokemon to hurt my workers after you've won. Unlike many of these pompous and arrogant trainers, you know you play a minor role in the universe and you don't seek to be important. I've heard in passing that you have helped people through caves and forests. You appear to be at least marginally intelligent. You can grasp my ideas, my world.
On a personal note, I am rather fond of you. You always listen to me and you make eye contact and… you are rather pretty. You take everyone seriously; in your eyes everyone is equal. No one else has ever cared about me like you do. You care about the world.
Yes, Barstow.
My world will have you.
