SofusGirl chapter 27 . 9/16/2014 Wow. That was quite a ride. I really fucking loved this story. And that's saying something, cause I usually just skip AU's completely. But something about this drew me in. And I am so glad I didn't skip this one. It made me laugh and cry and get angry. It was just beautiful. And the ending! It was perfect! Just what I hoped for. I can't even express how much I loved this! It was even worth staying up till one am even though I have to get up at six. (School you know) Just... well done! |
DarkpeanutS chapter 27 . 9/11/2014 This story was so beautiful. I seriously could not stop reading. The struggle was so delicious (I'm kind of a sucker for angst) and the banter always hilarious. Everything seemed so right and the fact that Dean is now an angel and they can live happily ever after is perfect. Bravo! |
Guest chapter 27 . 8/24/2014 This is one of the best fanfics ever. Thank you so much |
Happily Ever Never chapter 27 . 7/24/2014 How to review this one. I guess I should start by telling you that I attempted to read it three times previously and lost interest almost immediately. I really don't know why to be honest. Maybe I was not in the mood for it? Perhaps I was only clicking it for the sake of curiosity, but never with the intention of diving into it? Maybe it was even that the reviews being so low inspired no faith. For whatever reason, it was not apparent to me when I clicked the story up a few days back that this time was going to be different. I had some travel to do and figured that I would load the first chapter of your story (along with a few others) onto my laptop for something to read between reports and emails. Fate put it there honestly. I grabbed a whole heap of stories by word count and didn't really read the titles till I sat down. Please note with pride that I got no work done during my six hours travel and spent the entire time engrossed in your fic. I was glad that I gave it another go. This was brilliant. I could see Castiel as Peter. Wild hair and wild eyes. Curious about the world and this boy that he met. Making him a fledgling was absolutely adorable. But under that you still kept this... I guess 'dangerous' vibe for him. This was not just some boy climbing in Deans window. It was an Angel. Something stronger than a Human. Something wild and majestic. So few writers remember that in Destiel fics. They have Dean treat him as just some other human with a quirky personality and the gift to teleport, but you embrace what makes him different and it's ... Exhilarating to read quiet honestly. Your take on the angels as this almost bird-like race was interesting. New and exciting but you kept it all still firmly in the Supernatural verse. I've never really understood the appeal of wing kink before. I guess I always imagined that Castiel's wings would be pretty but in your story... They were something reverent. They were power and emotion. You have a beautiful talent with the written word and have now made me a wing kink fan. ( I would say a wing kink whore but since I really only like the way you describe it, the word whore doesn't stand as accurate lol, even if I do look forward to reading more of it). In parts of this story I completely lost myself. It flowed so seamlessly I did not feel the hours passing. I was engrossed. The way that you describe your scenes, the way that your characters spoke or developed their thought processes. Was almost symphonic. I was not as jarred out of the story by the pace change half way as I thought I would be. It was an interesting choice I will admit and pretty much splits your story into two arcs, but I can't say that I like one part more than the other. It is a very different vibe to spring in suddenly but you made it work. Your mastery of the characters was amazing. You didn't drop any of your supporting cast. They were brilliantly executed. From Lilith to Balthazar to Ellen to Crowley. They were all written perfectly. I am critical of characters being OOC in a fic. Often that is the thing that has me abandoning something partly read. But your understanding of them seems to mirror mine perfectly, so I had no complaints. I had no issue whatsoever of how you portrayed Castiel and I think it was only twice in the story I frowned at something Dean said or did. When I sit here to think of faults to bring up to well round this review I really just want to go back and read it again. So I can go back to being immersed in this great AU story once more. I'm sure that if I read it a few more times I could nit pick. But right now while I think about it, there is really only this nice afterglow that is compelling me to compliment you and tell you that you did great. I guess the ending was a bit different. Fell out of tone compared to the rest by making Dean an Angel. But honestly I don't care. If that had been the start of the story, fair enough I would have decided it was not for me, but by the end, I looked past canon and didn't really give a damn. Know that I think you are awesome. You need more reviews honestly. I really think that it's poor luck that more people don't find your work but please know that I will endorse you to as many people as I get a chance to. Please continue to write. I intend to watch you closely from here on out and would love to see what else you come up with. In short this was a great read. Well done. Encore! |
