I absolutely loved both this story and the sonnet at the very end - sonnet 116 has always been a personal favorite.

That's was so wonderful! I loved the way you were able to capture Mr. Carsons character so perfectly, and convey Mrs. Hughes thoughts in a way that actually reflected who she is. I hope you write a sequel, I'd like to see what happens next.

I have read just about every one of these Chelsie fan fics and I keep coming back to this one. So well written. Ditto all the other reviews.

I think this is my favorite Elsie/Carson story. They are so perfectly in character. I can imagine Carson acting just like this to Robert's infidelity, and I can imagine him silently, devotedly keeping faith with Elsie for years, married in his heart if not in fact. And Elise' reaction was perfect, just the right mix of emotion and stoicism. Well done!

ok, I was here, looking for words to describe what I think of your story but... Nothing. I can only think of use "perfect".

(For a terrible moment at the beginning I thought he'd caught HER with another man...so, you can imagine the breath of relief when I understood he'd seen Jane and his Lordship! XD) btw, yeah, "perfect" is the correct word :D
