aww
Selena92 chapter 1 . 2/12
Love it!

Gods, Midnight...that was one of the most haunting episodes ever, IMO. The Doctor's helpless fear, as he's almost killed by the very people he is trying to save, as his voice and movement is stolen...that will forever haunt me.

I can understand Jethro and I am proud that he, at least, was adult enough to apologize. I also liked Jack being all protective.

Holy- THAT WAS AMAZING
Razell chapter 1 . 3/13/2017
I've watched the Classic and the new Doctor Who series for years, and Midnight was the most truly terrifying episode I've ever seen. Blink coming in a distant second. There's nothing more terrifying or dangerous than frightened people. The creature didn't frighten me, the humans did. Especially Biff and Val. To tell the truth, they didn't seem worried about their son's fate, only their own. I really hated those two.

Jethro, I felt sorry for him. Out of the entire group he was the most understanding. In the end, it's clear he's confused and overwhelmed, torn between obeying his awful parents and trying to help The Doctor while being scared out of his mind by the incredible hostility all around him. He'd been helpful to The Doctor before, and he'd stated that he didn't want to kill anyone, but didn't have the strength of will to fight off his parents' constant berating and his own fear. He felt horrible to the point of tears while he was helping his father, afterwards he would probably have been shattered by the weight of his guilt. The Doctor had depended on him, and he probably hurt him the most by that fact. And Jethro would have realized that afterwards, he's a smart kid.

But he was a kid, with insane, controlling parents trapped in a nightmare. It he'd been more self-assured, more assertive, I don't doubt he would have stuck with The Doctor. But he was just a scared, confused kid with his parents screaming at him and the whole world going crazy. He's the only one with a legitimate excuse for his actions, in my opinion. That doesn't make him completely innocent, but it makes him the one person I can't really blame or hate.

This was a beautiful story, both Jethro and The Doctor are still traumatized by the nightmare on Midnight. Jethro's sincere apology helped The Doctor feel just a little bit better about people, and The Doctor's forgiveness of Jethro gave him hope and encouragement to be a better man. And that helped them both take a huge step in moving past the terrible experience and moving on with life. They both desperately needed closure, and they found it.

I hope my ranting makes sense.

Athena's phoenix chapter 1 . 11/20/2015
Awesome!
The Doctor has a big impact on people, and it's nice to see the results. :D
I love what you did with Jethro's character, and Jack and the Doctor's interaction was great! I guess it doesn't really matter, but why was Jack with the Doctor? And, ah, I really want to see what Jethro does with his life now. Geez, this fic is cool. :)
BreathingMagic chapter 1 . 4/1/2015
Wow. I love this so so much. Jethro was fantastic in the episode, my heart broke when he reluctantly started pulling the Doctir along, tears streaming down his face. And even before that, when the Doctor said "Not you too, Jethro!". He really was special and clever and I thought that this whole ordeal would have made a huge impact on him. And on the Doctor as well, who was really distraught when he hugged Donna, so that you gave him closure and a smile as well is just perfect.

Also, any fic that gives my inner eye the pleasure of seeing my two favourite actors in the world - the brilliant David Tennant and the ridicously talented Colin Morgan - interact some more is just ought to make very very happy.

I favourited this story ages ago but apparently, I never reviewed it. Sorry about that because this story is great. 'Midnight' was an incredibly creepy episode with a lot of loose ends; I'm glad you wrote this piece and chose to make one of the guest characters the protagonist in this. Very well done.

Guest chapter 1 . 4/6/2014
This is really, really amazing! It's given me closure I didn't even know I wanted for that episode. I love how you've written all the characters, especially Jethro. He's changed so much from the typical teenage boy he was at the beginning of Midnight.
Starkid191 chapter 1 . 2/12/2014
Wonderful! And I forgive you too, Jethro.
WolfKomoki chapter 1 . 12/19/2013
Nice! I like it! Midnight was my first doctor who episode.
SheaTSarc chapter 1 . 10/3/2013
Oh, very good! I loved this, and am happy to see Jethro getting the forgiveness he needs.

But ... couldn't Jack just drag Jethro's dad somewhere else and punch him in the face? I won't tell.
