Love this story about the two of them, never ever underestimate helga

It’s sad but I can seem to find the fan sequel to this anymore, if you know or have a copy, I would love to read it

Hi there! I was already tearing up at chapter 2. It was well written and brought out emotions really well. Yeah the end was a bit surprising for me because I thought you were going to explore how Arnold gained such feelings of love for Helga or was he really just indebted to her? Anyhoo, only a handful HA writers coud write this well and you did a great job! P.S. I couldn't find the companion fic or the authore One Fine Wire... was really excited to read that too.

I never reviewed this. I can't believe I haven't. I've read it before, a few times actually, and each time I fell into a deeper infatuation with Helga's sacrifice.

From the very beginning you draw us in. Arnold, such a sweet boy, never deserved any of that. Losing his eye sight, missing huge events in his young life because of his idiotic friends carelessness. Btw, I now hate Stinky and Sid.

Obviously with the summary, we immediately know it's Helga who donated her eyes for Arnold.

What made it believable was the confession she have in chapter three. That was an amazing confession. And most needed.

I did like the end of the story. Leaving it off there. Because no matter how Helga or Arnold see it, she made a great sacrifice that does put Arnold indebted to her and no matter how much Arnold could love Helga, it'll never seem enough as Helga has loved him.

Maybe they would get together or not at all. I'm unsure myself. Such a delicate situation. Also I can't help but think, why Arnolf wouldn't think Helga would do that for him. It's as if he doubted her love for him by not thinking it her until he saw her at the park.

When Arnold asked the Doctor who donated the corneas and the Doctors reply was that it was confidential...I knew it was Helga.

Talk about sacrifice and extreme.

I liked Arnold's last quote "Funny that I finally get to see the real you through your eyes". Good line.

You were right about it ending this way with Arnold kissing Helga. It has hope.

I thought that this was a very enjoyable story but I wish that you could have made it a little bit longer

I came across your story through a fan pic on deviantart and I'm really glad I did. I enjoyed the story immensely and I'm very upset that it ended (even though I'm two years too late lol). Anyway, I'd also like to say that even though the story line isn't necessarily "legal" (apparently), I think it fit Helga's character rather well. Also, if you still have the link of the music video, I would very much like to see the inspiration for this amazing story!

Oh my goodness... you had me bawling! This is just such a passionate story! I cred so hard, my nose started dripping. I cried so hard I started to make ugly faces while I cried (That's why i prefer silent tears. Don't you just hat when you cry and it comes so strongly that your throat hurts and you just let it out, only to find out from other people that you were looking homely in the process) Well that's what you put me through... I hope your happy! :/

I'll tell you right now, this has emptinally wrecked me. Thhatast chalter had me bawling the whole way through... WOW. This was just so beautiful and heartwrenching in SO MANY WAYS, i dont know where to begin!

First- yes, Helga's donation is a plot hole. That procedure is not legal in the US or anywhere that I know. And SO WHAT? This is fiction, so any reader should be able to suspend their disbelief and accept the terms of the story. You did not deserve the coldness a previous reviewer gave you - you did a wonderful job using this plot to paint such a haunting story. Perhaps if it were some gimmicky subplot in a larger story, readers would have cause to speak out. But here? You were brave to use such a tragic plot, and you did a tremendous job with it!

I felt Arnold's feelings were a little out of place here. Perhaps if his feelings were discussed a little more clearly before his talk with Helga, it would not have come as the surprise it did. The ending, too, was abrupt, but after contemplating I could not imagine an ending more suitable. And while I wish Arnolds affections were developed proir, i'm still so so glad you gave these two a light at the end of the tunnel... This fic could NOT hold anymore heartbreak!

Anyways...when all is said and done, Im left with such a haunting sadness over what youve written... But I think thats a strangely appropriate way of knowing you did a fantastic job here. Thank you for sharing this.
