For the most part, I like your alternate Riddle explanation, I don't think it's too random and it seems reasonable. But there is one problem. The love potion his Mom gave to his Dad, which made it impossible for Tom Riddle to love. Reading your alternate Riddle reality, it sounds as if he is capable of love. How did that happen?

Yes, I totally agree with your Riddle re-write. In an alternate universe, who's to say he couldn't have had this much nicer life? And turned out a real swell fella. :D Just a note: When wondering if you should write Creme or Cream, don't get confused and write Crame. It looks really goofy. Go with Cream. The people who are reading in countries where they write Creme, will still understand. :D
