The fact that Snape was enough of a Hitchhiker's fan to at least get to the fourth book makes me love him even more than I did before.

I can't believe this exists! I've been writing a story with a similar plotline, where Voldemort learns how to fly with the Hitchhiker's method and teaches it to Snape. I'm actually almost done writing it, so I randomly decided to see if any other HP/Hitchhiker's fics existed, and lo and behold, I found this. You wouldn't mind me posting mine, would you? I didn't steal the plot from you; you don't need to worry. Please reply quickly, as I'm planning on typing, editing, and posting around Sunday.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who likes the idea that Snape taught the Dark Lord to fly rather than vice versa. We have only Minerva's contemptuous assumption ("picked up a trick from his Master") for the latter. If it's such an easy trick, Minnie, why aren't you flying around the castle? Severus, having gotten used to pain in his life as a victim of bullies and a slave of two insane masters, was not intimidated by the fact that learning how had to hurt. A lot.

I'm also pleased that Severus has remained Headmaster. Has he yet managed to drag that antiquated institution into the latter half of the 20th century? The 21st is obviously impossible.
