Cheaward chapter 1 . 1/13/2012
You did such an amazing job with this. I love the caption you used throughout 'there used to be...' and how each section worked. I only wish that you had shown some more of Peeta's feelings towards Katniss after the hijacking- you know, how he thought she was a mutt, tried to kill her etc, but we all know he healed and you captured that well. I LOVE their family life afterwards and how the family could grow and grow into the type of future Katniss & Peeta wished for.

Phoenix Refrain chapter 1 . 10/26/2011
Oh My God! This should have been the epilogue.

I mean seriously. Freaking amazing.

It's likely the best fanfic I have ever or will ever read.
Howlynn chapter 1 . 9/12/2011

I love this so much.

But then again you're a wonderful writer.
LadyMahfuza chapter 1 . 8/5/2011
This is just utterly amazing.

This made me almost cry, and the words you wrote are so powerful, I had to stop a couple of times just to sit there and in the wonder of it. There are not many stories about the relationship between Peeta and his family, and you wrote it so perfectly in just one chapter. You incorporated how his mother was abusive, but yet you can still see her love.

"Seeing him murder for the first time." I almost forgot that Peeta killed in the Games. But you got his family's emotion right, the way they almost couldn't recognize him.

"There used to be one of him in his little family." This made me tear up. The passage about the fire was terrifying and made me rethink how there wasn't much emphasis in the book on this, how the Mellark family were just background characters ignored thoughout the series and then killed off.

"And then she took his last name." I love how you said this instead of 'And she married him.'

"He soon found out that he was wrong. Every time he woke up to the squeal of excited children leaping onto Mommy and Daddy's bed because they were just so excited to be with their parents it made his heart swell." I think my heart just swelled when I read this.

"... she sees the world her parents fought for. The world that is healed." This is a beautiful way to end the story. :)

Once again, you did an absolute lovely job.

that was amazing (:
That Guy chapter 1 . 2/22/2011
You worked with the "five" prompt and I see the whole theme of the five being torn down and rebuilt, which was something new. Your mechanics were good and I did not see any spelling or grammar mistakes.

I have to admit that I was a little disappointed in this piece, though. For being the winner of the monthly prompt, I expected more. Some of the lines were a little cheesy like "That was the day that gave Peeta his soul back." It's a matter of taste when it comes to judging, I know, but it felt flat to me.
EStrunk chapter 1 . 2/15/2011
I loved your device about the changing numbers in the family. Very inventive. And I have always been frustrated that Peeta's family was ignored. I had never thought though how disconcerting it would be for them to see sweet Peeta become a killer. That was chilling. But lovely to watch he and Katniss find happiness again.
Kate of Carlay chapter 1 . 1/30/2011
Prudence, haha nicely done. YOU know I'm not a big Peeta fan but I still really liked this, the names were great haha.

GReat Work!

Tour de Force chapter 1 . 1/21/2011
Pen... that was beautiful. Seriously, it was a very touching way to tie up his family, something I think he valued more than any of us could imagine due to what's shown in the books.

And I adored the ending. I agree with the sentiments about it healing completely with their children's lives, the first generation since the Dark Days who haven't lived in fear and who have been free.
rigal chapter 1 . 1/20/2011
I loved it :)
Claratrix LeChatham chapter 1 . 1/20/2011
I. Love. This.

So. Much.

Prudence! Eeeee! Your take on the prompt was quite amazing, and entirely individual. And Prudence! :D

I love the look at the Mellark family, and, yes, I love their names. To death. Peeta, and Katniss, and everyone, really, were absolutely in character.

This makes me so happy. :)
