I loved reading this story. Luke's character and grief is so beautifully, painfully realized here, it's quite moving.
I also really liked Ben's role in this. His attempt at comfort is awkward but well-intentioned - and considering the things he lived through, the statement about endings and beginnings is quite tragic and profound, at least in my opinion.

Very entertaining story. I loved how you described the Falcon. Like felt very authentic in the story. Of all the SW characters he is the most emotional and easiest to relate to for tragic based stories.

In saying that, much of your story is actually very amusing. Makes me wonder if humour may have been a better. Genre.

It may "just" be filling the gaps, but it does so in a very moving and equally admirable way. I really like how you picked up all of Luke's pain which, possibly for the sake of the plot, was dropped so quickly in the movie. We get far too little insight into his character in ANH, and I'm glad you decided to step in.

I really need to do a better job of keeping up with my fic reading! Don't know how I missed this gem. You've done a lovely job handling Luke's characaterisation and the ANH setting. His grief for Beru and Owen is beautifully touched on as well.

What a bittersweet little vignette you've given us here, so very evocative in leading our emotions on a rollercoaster ride, with the casual lightness of touch that is your trademark, and pulls the reader in from the first line. You always manage to take the smallest minutae of life and use them to look at something else entirely.

Great to read a little moment from this time period too - it feels so rare to see them these days!
