Oh, this is beautiful! It's not something I usually think of, when I even bother to think of alternate universes for Tokyo Mew Mew, but it definitely suits them. Clever use of dub names, too! But the story reminds me of almost a Jane Austen-style romance, especially with Peter Sardon claiming Bridget is too plain to interest him. It's very simple, but in a way that brings out the best parts of it.

I really like the part about Lettuce's hair. Extra bits about alien culture flesh out the world and make it more real. Also how you've characterised Pai with his thoughts on 'mating rituals' and the fact that he's embarrassed by his fleas' 'vandalism' and realises he can't blame the human for abandoning the lunch box - it makes him seem more reasonable and real than usual.

Darn, this is why you should never read two amazing fics at the same time.

I just tried to review your latest chapter of 'A Worthy Opponent', and ended up deleting the first part of my review for this story. Ugh.

Anyway. This story is fantastic! Of course, I wouldn't expect any less from you, but still. It's wonderful. I'm just annoyed that it hasn't been reviewed yet. Honestly, Fanfictioners can be so conservative sometimes.

I especially loved the 3rd and 5th sections. It's true that in canon, Keiichiro spends a large proportion of his screen-time looking after the younger characters, and I love the idea that Lettuce notices this and decides to look after him a bit instead.

Although Keiichiro isn't gay (or at least, not in this version of canon!), I'm glad that you gave a passing nod to his rather effeminate behaviours. Your description of his bullying at school after he gave a girl cupcakes was horribly believable, despite the obvious paradox. I feel quite sorry for Keiichiro now!

And, of course, I really liked the final section of the story: Wedding Cake. By this time, I practically wanted to bash their heads together, because you'd brought the story to such a point that it seemed impossible for them not to realise their feelings for one another. It was a beautiful conclusion to a fabulous fic.

I noticed one or two stylistic points which I didn't quite agree with, but they were matters of personal opinion rather than actual flaws in your work. This is a beautifully crafted one-shot with a solid central theme, and I'm absolutely over the moon that you decided to write it.

Keep writing, and keep eating! :)
