I love this story! I think this is the first story I've read where the main character falls in love with a Smoker rather than a more human-looking Hunter or Witch. I disagree with the idea that it's bestiality, Patrick was born human and mutated by a disease. He's a mutant, not a dog. I do wonder about his ability to give consent, but it's clear he understands the concept of sex.

I like all of the pack members, they are so fascinating and well-written. They have a depth that is rare to these stories, and which helps it rise above so many others. Since Jeremy was only introduced in the last two chapters, we don't know much about him, but we know enough to sympathize.

Carter is a dick. Garnet simply suggested that human and Infected might be able to live in peace, and he cursed her and started shooting at her. Narrow-minded creep. Yes, they caused a lot of suffering and death, but humans have done far worse throughout our own history. It would be better to make peace and stop the killing. But that's not the way humanity works, is it?

For some reason I'd thought before about infected lacking the skill or inclination to dispose of their waste, just befouling themselves. That is an excellent way to contract/spread other diseases. The idea of diapers was genius.

I can't see more cunning and intelligent Infected starving in a big city because, with the Uninfected gone, and bodies piled in the streets, the rat population would explode. A swarm could overcome and devour a few Commons easily, but Infected like Smokers and Hunters could use them as a steady food source. Rats breed incredibly quickly and can live almost anywhere.

As for survival, I think the least capable of surviving are the Boomers, Tanks and the Spitters. Tanks are too blinded by rage to bother eating or drinking, and Boomers would likely keep on expanding until their bodies couldn't take the pressure and exploded on their own. Spitters don't seem to be entirely immune to their own acid, I think it slowly eats away at their insides until they die. That's not counting Commons, who are pretty much hopelessly doomed.

Witches could survive, but I think most of them just want to curl up in a dark corner and cry themselves to death. They could probably find food, shelter, etc... They just don't want to live anymore. That's my theory, anyway.

I have one question, Is Patrick one of the Smokers with multiple tongues, or just one?

There's so much more I could say, if I had the time.

But I really enjoy this series and wanted you to know.

I love this story. I read it a while ago but never got a chance to review. I love that you made your character an adult, not a teenager but a grown woman. That is a thing I don't see too often. I was so into this story that I had trouble studying for my finals. I know that you haven't updated in a while, but Please continue with your sequel it has so much going for it.

was weired out but yet i could see it when she fell in love with blake, the whole story i started reading and just couldnt stop till i was done! i loved it was amazing! i my self love the hunter i find them rather "interesting" lol

That was truly one of the best L4D fanfictions I have ever read and I thank you for posting it.

I usually dislike reading journal format stories. But this is quite a work you've got here. I can't stop reading till i reached the last chapter in one setting. And i like how it takes 'time' to tame the twins, and it doesn't just happen over night. Great job on this story. :'D

This was awesome! It was very cool to read the tale like a journal. It felt very real like I was reliving Garnet's situations. The ending of them reuniting was wonderful. Best fic of left for dead I've ever read so far! Great job!
