So this is pretty much the saddest thing ever. Poor Mercutio actually believing that Romeo will live. At least he died with a happy thought. This is beautifully written. One of the best short fics I've read ever.

It's what happens when a player falls for a player~ And I'm glad Mercutio was kept in character (other authors would have made him into a sappy clingy romantic which I believe he's not) as well as Romeo. I couldn't help but wonder what really happened during the wrestling scene...my mind sort of travelled from romeo and juliet to a midsummer night's dream when you mentioned that. To be starcrossed lovers or not to be starcrossed lovers? Really enjoyed reading this fanfic~

This is.. fantastic. OC's can be tricky, but Maia was written beautifully. And Mercutio was brilliant. I can't express well enough how moving this was. Especially the ending; I came as close to crying as I can when reading or watching a movie (For some reason, fiction can almost never make me cry. The only times I remember crying about a work of fiction, I was relating it to the real world). It's just so terrible that he died to save Romeo and Romeo died anyway. I like the altered dialog- it makes relating to them easier.
