This story is so beautiful yet heartbreaking. And Ianto has to forget that he'll stay in Jack's memory... I'm not crying, really.

On every read I become more impressed with your insight into the curse of immortality. Poor Jack! It really can't be easy to find someone as accepting of his faults and his circumstance as Ianto. It's a shame he doesn't just figure out a way to get what he wants. The Doctor dies and flaunts rules of time whenever he wants. As a fixed point I'd think Jack deserves to break a few rules.

Lovely story! Maybe Jack can change that future. Maybe he can change that fate. Maybe he can say those three little words and not live forever with the regret.

That was great, and so so sad! I felt awful that Jack had to Retcon Ianto, but that was very realistic. Great job :D I enjoyed this.

Ah, what a wonderful, sad and heartbreaking and depressing and beautiful fic. It's amazing how much joy and grief can fit in one story, but I am sure that the story of Jack and Ianto is the most dramatic love story EVER. Romeo and Juliet? Please. Here's the tragedy and overwhelming loss and merciless destiny.

I'm so glad it turned out the way it did. There for a minuter I worried that Jack was retconning him to get him away from Torchwood for good. So thank you for that. It actually way a very good short story.

I didn't think it was odd that Ianto took so long to figure it out. After all, even if you deal with time-travelling, aliens, and death everyday, nobody actually ever really thinks about what happens after you die. Honestly, it would've been stranger if Ianto had gotten it straight away. Good job. Depressing, but good job.

I both love you and hate you for this fic. You're right, Ianto probably should've realised it earlier; I certainly did, and I was SO psyched! It didn't metter though, because with such a wondeful premise, even knowing what was really happening didn't take away a smidge of the suspence and excitement of the piece. The story is totally believable, it should even kind of be expected, if I think about it, but the I never would've thought of this and that's one thing that made the story so great. You wrote this so true to character, even remembering that Jack does age from The Last of the Time Lords (I'm assuming) and bringing in the gray hair thing. The things you had him remember, like the date scene, but forgetting his research after their first meeting and being hazy of Gwen were very believable, especially the way you wrote them. I was totally shocked that now-Jack Retconned the life-changing realisation right out of Ianto's head, though. Despite my horror at the move, I must admit it was very in-character. This entire story, epecially the end, was incredible in-character and true to form. Adding to favorites in case I even need to depress myself with a beautiful fic. Thanks so much for writing this.

hi i thought your story was very emotional, as i gathered wat was going on i couldn't stop myself from crying, jack never forgets ianto to me, and you put that into a story, jack can never let ianto know his love for him but show it to him in the amount of time they have left..
