Reviews for For This Night
Isis the Sphinx chapter 1 . 1/10/2010
There's a group called Celtic Thunder that does a song called Christmas 1914. You can take it from there. Its absolutely beautiful.

I loved this, and almost found myself crying from it.

Keep writing!
Westron Wynde chapter 1 . 12/29/2009
Simply beautiful, both in concept and writing.
White Wyrsa chapter 1 . 12/29/2009
Like evening prayer. More then fitting for Christmas. And your Watson is allways very attractive character. His words sound sincerely and naturally. You are truly gifted writer. Thank you very much for sharing your works! Merry Crhistmas.

Wish you every happiness and success in upcoming New Year.
OneDarkandStormyNight chapter 1 . 12/27/2009
Absolutely beauitful, as all your stories are. :) I pity both Watson and Holmes so much; both must be missing the other so much! :"( How thoughtful of Watson to send VALL as a Christmas gift. And you say that Silent Night story is true...? How purely magical that is, that in the midst of so much pain, people can still find love for one another during Christmas. :)

Holmes should write back, if he can pull himself away from decorating Mycroft's office while he's out! Haha! *wink, wink*
Lemon Zinger chapter 1 . 12/27/2009
Very well done! Holmes should so reply!

Merry Christmas and a Happy Happy Happy New year to you!

Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. You can practically feel Watson coming through the pages, his sorrow and his joy.

Good Lord, what a Christmas gift! Thanks so much, and a Merry Christmas.
bcbdrums chapter 1 . 12/27/2009
aw... touching and heartfelt as always. i like how sincere this is; you've made it really clear how much watson (and other soldiers) truly lived for the writing and receiving of letters. and of course, i appreciate the history very much. i didn't know about any football match played on Christmas eve, but wow...

i also love how you made VALL his Christmas present to holmes. it's quite perfect. somehow i think our dear detective will be delighted to read it and share with the public...
Wirral Bagpuss chapter 1 . 12/27/2009
Awh, a beautiful story. I can well imagine Watson sitting there in his tent writing to Holmes on Christmas Eve. And i can just feel Holmes feeling so lonely without Watson at his side.

Merry Christmas to you too ! :)
Runa93 chapter 1 . 12/27/2009
Its been so long since I've read one of your stories-It feels incrediably refreshig. Well done on that indeed. I could almost here Watson sitting next to me, in a dark overcrowded ward, Holmes's letter by his side, carefully penning out each word...how do you do that, I wonder?

A wonderful story for a christmas day, and after, and thank you for writing!

Wow! Very original and very touching, especially your last line. I love the humanity in Watson's letters to Holmes and the touch of humor in them, especially regarding the man's holiday sentiments. Very well done.

Edna Pests chapter 1 . 12/26/2009
I remember when I first read about that truce. Touched me a lot, it seemed straight out of a book.
aragonite chapter 1 . 12/25/2009
My nine-year old loves WWI history, and he wants me to buy him a copy of Joyeux Noel...a DVD well worth the price! It tells the story of the truce...and how people's lives were changed forever even when the truce was ended. My kind of story!
