This is a jewel, beautifully written! Just mesmerising... One of my favorite Harry Potter fics so far.

Short, sweet, and beautiful :) I love how much emotion you can convey in so few words. You made me understand both Sirius and Snape's POVs, and feel for them both. This is very well-written, and perfectly in character.

Little touches I liked: "JamesandSirius" next to "SevandLily." I knew just what that felt like.

And so many lyrical little turns of phrase: "learning the in-between of here and gone," "that is his lot, and it is an ache in the hinge of his jaw," and of course both Severus' decision and his last line are absolutely perfect.

Wow.

Oh, it's so poetic! I love how the two characters are juxtaposed, and how compare them (I wouldn't have thought it could work, but it's very well done...)
