Awww! This was really sweet and cute, I loved it!

SO GOOD AND CUTE! But the best part is how you mirrored the "Three Seconds." You take the simple mundane act of buying candy and then pair it with something quite the opposite. But in a way, it's also not so opposite. If you think of it, the green candies (And she is right to like green! GREEN! I have never had the green kind, but damn...must be good) are something she searched for, waited for, and wanted for a long while. And this kiss was ALSO something she waited for a long time. Though she didn't search for it. Why? Because I guess she knew she'd never be able to get it, or would be worthy of it. Or, like the candy, she knew she'd have to cough a hefty price to get it, and knows what she assumed the emotional "Two bucks" would be?

See, this is why I love your work. You don't just prattle on endlessly about how they would end up, you don't write something so cheesy that makes Kraft Jealous. Instead you examine them as they are, use your keys to emotionally vivisect their lives to give something that's real, and them. Thank you for your contribution to written word. We would be lost with you.

This story made me laugh! That move of Arnold kissing Helga to steal the candy but also to just "make a move" on her...classic! Seems like something I would do! Hehehe

It was very sweet though, and leaving Helga to fumble with her words was awesome. Nothing like making a mov and watching the other person squirm a bit as it sinks in. ;)

Oh yeah, "never cross paths with Helga Pataki" is a rule that can never be broken in Helga's case! It's such a funny thing how Helga hasn't changed too much, and yet she and Arnold seem to get along pretty well. And it's sweet how he confides in her about his grandma's problem, and Helga actually listens and offers condolences.

Of course Gertie would still call her Eleanor, and we all know why she likes Helga! ;)

I love how Helga teases Arnold here about refusing to give him some candy, calling him cheap and then he calls her "little miss stingy." I think she's challenging him, so he says the insult again and adds "ass" to it! XD

And what a way for him to steal the candy...by French kissing Helga! (Get the little joke here?) I bet Helga was a little mad that he stole it from her that way, but I also think she enjoyed the taste of kissing him rather than the taste of the candy. ;) And she threatens him with a fist, but he's not afraid of her anymore. For once, Arnold has finally defeated Helga, and she knows it. :)

Cute story here, Robert. I really like it. (On the side, I took French in high school, so I was able to translate the title before I read the story.)

I must say that all of your stories send my heart fluttering. Every word, of every line, contributes to the moment or moments when you can just...feel the love that Arnold and Helga share. From watching the show to reading words about the two, it's impossible to say that these two didn't have something incredible, you just do a fantastic job of capturing it.

It's well written, and I liked the little touches like "Mrs. Simmons" (now I want to know who he married!) and Abner recognizing Helga on his way out the door. And apparently Arnold has gotten a little better with the ladies in his ripe old age. I enjoyed it - thanks!
