Kynie chapter 1 . 7/31/2014
When you finish reading it's like waking up from a dream

The dialogue held all the emotional rightness and we can kind of see the understanding between John and Jack. Awesome
The Pianist's Touch chapter 1 . 12/29/2013
I love this! Very in character, very nice. And here I was thinking the world would explode if two such badasses happened to meet.
JEREMY chapter 1 . 6/17/2013
This is a good story to read for Father's Day.

MKproot chapter 1 . 3/27/2012
This is one of those awesome fan fictions that captures the characters so well that I almost feel like this happened in a movie or something. :D
Dioltas chapter 1 . 3/27/2012
I stumbled upon this randomly after a little exploring, and I must say that I am very impressed. You did a wonderful job and it felt so natural to read it; you don't often come across a crossover that actually works. Lucy was written nicely, as were Jack and John.

Well done!
MegaBauer chapter 1 . 7/8/2011
This story was very good and it proves you can have a good 24/Die Hard crossover without one terrorist, explosion, gunshot or kidnapping.
DieHardBrendan chapter 1 . 11/25/2010
Real interesting short story about the brief meeting between John McClane and Jack Bauer.

They both men of action and their sharp intincts are unparallel.
Kris Sakai chapter 1 . 11/23/2010
If I didn't know better I'd say you threw in the coffee comment just for me. I really liked the way McClane really acted like a dad. Great dialogue as well, as always.
Kazama93 chapter 1 . 7/14/2010
Hi there :)

I really like this short, but interesting fanfiction story of yours. The way you describe Jack Bauer and John McClane is really fitting. A nice little story!
Gyreflight chapter 1 . 5/12/2010
When I saw the categories in the crossover, this is *exactly* what I was hoping to read. You caught both character’s voices and personalities dead on, and it’s an appealing conceit to have those two in particular happen to brush past each other. The implicit parallels and contrasts are fascinating, and the idea of having the ‘hook’ of John’s relationship with his daughter catching Jack’s attention, and of that then attracting John’s is a very neat touch.

They are both of them men of action, but above that, they are men of observation, whose lives rely on interpreting correctly everything that goes on around them – and reacting appropriately. You did a lovely job of picking up on the little details that go with that mindset, which is why it reads so believably. A great deal can remain unspoken and still be understood by such people, which is probably why the brief interaction works as well as it does.

Oh, and I really liked Jack’s "Nobody I know has died or been kidnapped. The president's still alive. No nukes are missing, all biological weapons are accounted for, and the terrorist alert level is decreased. So—yes, this has been a good day." It made me grin.

Thanks for the read.

bluedana chapter 1 . 1/15/2010
The word of the day is AWESOME. These are two of my favorite action characters, and you got both of their voices just right. Some lines were read-out-loud funny or poignant:

*“You better not have that damned lip gloss on. I don’t want glitter on my head, Lucy.”* And,

*“Day’s almost over,” Jack said. “Nobody I know has died or been kidnapped. The president’s still alive. No nukes are missing, all biological weapons are accounted for, and the terrorist alert level is decreased. So—yes, this has been a good day.”

“Geez, what do your bad days look like?” McClane sipped his coffee.

“You don’t want to know.”*

I could hear each of these characters say each of these things, which is so satisfying. The details you included made me feel like I was watching this, or sitting in the diner with them.

Awesome.
