I think Harry was having them on. Oh what he told them was true …. except the thinking the Great Hall looked like a convertible. He would know that Hermione's chastisement over cursing is a quick and sharp "Language!" not a "Watch your mouth."

I see him going on to 2ndd year and telling them about the infiltration of the Syltherin dorms except two facts that he waits for the last moment. He'd tell them about brewing polyjuice in 2nd year and that who planned to imersonate who, letting the guys try to say if that sound familiar or not. then at end he'd say two facts that would bust Sirius and Remus, letting them know he knows its them
1- Hermione didn' go due to 'complications', only saying what later.
2- Ron & Harry learned a valuable lesson:when impersonating someone, make sure you get their behavior down, from hand gestures to vocal ticks.

I get why you didn't continue this story, but I have to confess that I liked the idea. As a one-shot, it's a good one. :)

Oh my, I will gather from reading this, that the whole collection will be full of gems like this. Emperor of Earth Harry would be a story I'd love to read in an extended version :)

Actually, it's interesting in that you've provided upgrades on both sides of the divide. It explains how the good guys were getting whomped so readily since Bellatrix had gone thrgouh the power up, giving a reason for her to be so feared. With Riddle and Albus at equivalent levels, but Albus at the end of his run and Riddle in mid run, it gives credence to that old saw of Dumbledore being the only one that he feared.

Making Harry an instrument gives him the ultimate upgrade but, essentially, removes him from the board And choosing the title Instrument makes it clear he's an instrument of something. Depending upon whose instrument he is, would dictate how he goes about resolving the Riddle issue.
