I really liked how you used the cloak, as it actually IS a metaphor. [I watched an interview with the director of FFVII] It's supposed to represent a heavy weight on his shoulders, like guilt or death. The unravelling may very well be canon as well. :]

Wow, I really liked this. I'm sure most of the other reviewers have said this for you already: this is beautiful, touching. So there's something else I'd like to say:

You know, during Vincent's speech (I don't know whether you did this on purpose or not) but...a lot of what he said could have been applied to Lucrecia as well. I like how you used the ambiguous "she" rather than "Aeris" there. Just wanted to point that out. If you did that on purpose, I commend you.

You know what, that is a damn sweet story. I really love that last line. It's like you wrapped up a present and topped it off with a pretty bow, and I could just picture her trying to fix his cloak. I wonder if he'd let her. Or maybe she'd buy him a new one on eBay or something.

I like how you wrote him, silent but present, and how the first time he spoke he tossed his fortune cookie lines at her. Funny, how he ends up lifting her spirits, isn't it? Things aren't always what they seem.

I also like that you have Aeris and Tifa as friends. I think I've seen more people writing them that way, but a lot of times people like to bash one or the other, and that's not fair.

I love you so much for writing this...because you're just so right. Tifa was torn up when Aerith died, and I hate that the fandom has somehow decided to just ignore that and focus on Cloud's angst and how Tifa does nothing but cry over *him.* /rant. :D But really, this is very lovely...I love the idea of Vincent offering her comfort in this time as well...I'm a CloudxTifa girl at heart, but I still love the dynamic she has with Vincent, and I think you have portrayed it beautifully...your characterizations are just perfect. :)
