Great story! My only hang up was that Wutai was designed mainly after Japanese culture and not Chinese.

It's finally done. I'm so glad. Aside from the random glee I have for recognizing Rude's self incirimating insult (born and raised in spanish colonized country, of course it comes with the territory), it's wonderful to see Rude's well meaning attempts to help Reno turn out for the best.

That was, quite simply, beautiful.

I did not expect to be crying during this story, since I rarely cry, but I was oh so wrong... It was the last chapters that really hit something inside of me that let the tears flow (the late hour probably didn't help either (4:32AM)). This was a fantastic storyline and so unique from many of the others I have been reading! Magnificent job!

Tears, so many tears. I loved this ending so much. It hadn't occurred to me until now that Auntie Qian was trying to protect him, but it was a perfect wrap-up and I love how Rude was the one to point it out to Reno.

Thank you so much for coming back and finishing this fic, after so many years. I first found it on LJ years ago as a kid, and thank god I had bookmarked the post since otherwise I probably never would have found it. This was a perfect character study of Reno, and I really enjoyed how masterfully you wove his past into the present intrigue. I've also never cared about OCs so much until Auntie Qian and Jie-this is definitely a prime example of how they should be written in fanfic! Plus fav, cuz this fic will definitely be one I return to years later.
