Reviews for Sons of Prophecy : sequel to Mood Music
Guest chapter 22 . 6/5
May I have some more, please?
Guest chapter 3 . 6/4
Yeah, I used to be a journalist. When my best friend was murdered, I found out at work. I covered the story. Duties often suck. Often they crop up and multiply when they are least convenient, when they are the very last thing you want to do- but, who else would carry out your duties better than you? Snape would respect her commitment (and mine and yours) as much as he respects anything else, I suspect.

I still hope for an update :) I seriously love this fanfiction!
Temple Cloud chapter 22 . 11/16/2018
I love this - an encouraging alternative ending to the Harry Potter series (if only the good characters had had the sense to work together, instead of just Harry, Hermione and Ron running around on their own), and a very believable love story between two people who love each other but have barriers to actually having a sexual relationship (very close to home for me, and if they ever come up with a Good Sex Writing Award as a counterbalance to the Bad Sex Award, I'll nominate you). Also a great soundtrack - lots of Steeleye Span with a touch of Oasis ('Wonderwall' was the song of my adolescence, and one of the few contemporary Britpop songs I became aware of in between listening to songs from my parents' or grandparents' generation).

Magpies - apart from the many variants on 'One for sorrow,' a Yorkshire-born friend of mine taught me, when I see a magpie, always to point it out to a friend, because 'One magpie, seen by two,/ Brings good luck to the both of you.' So friendship can turn the bad luck into good.

Hmmm - a wizard from another world (even if it's a hidden subculture, rather than another planet or a parallel universe), taken in by a woman from our world, learns how to be a computer programmer. Were the echoes of the backstory of 'A Sudden Wild Magic' here deliberate? Though Lynsey's role here seems closer to Zillah's than Paulie's; even if she doesn't literally have to put two severed halves of her lover back together, she is certainly giving the side of his personality that can enjoy music and laughter and friendship and sex a chance to flourish.

Also, have you read any of Lois McMaster Bujold's books, and particularly the Vorkosigan series? Apart from Snape's parallels with Sergeant Bothari (being sexually abused as a child, being forced to rape prisoners, trying to save Lily's life by pretending to Voldemort that he 'wanted to amuse himself with her', and ultimately rebelling by refusing to rape someone), Lupin's need for a pack Alpha is reminiscent of Bothari (who sometimes refers to himself as a dog, and is described as looking like a borzoi). Also, Snape complaining that he 'doesn't want to be anyone's pity-fuck' reminds me of Miles as a teenager reflecting that he is so ugly that the only people willing to have sex with him are 'the kinky-curious, Good Samaritans, hermaphrodites, or boys'. This could be true, but, considering the number of beautiful, assertive and brilliant women who sleep with him in the course of the series, it could just be Miles's insecurity speaking. (Though admittedly, the first person we actually see in a romantic relationship with Miles is a genetically engineered wolf-girl who is twice his height, and, at this point, is a 16-year-old who is just as lonely, unhappy and sexually frustrated as Miles had been at her age.)

Hello! :) I am a longtime admirer of your writing and I just wanted to thank you for this wonderful story. It seems to me that you sincerely understand Severus’ complex character and thus your wrote a situation that would make it plausible for him to connect to someone else, namely your female OC. Thank you once more for this story to which I come back time and again to check if there are any new chapters or re-read the existing chapters. I sincerely hope you are doing well and you give us more chapters or finish the story in the future! :)
excessivelyperky chapter 22 . 5/4/2018
What a delightful chapter, and I so wish it wasn't the last one. There was a story about a dementor named Pumblechook on Sycophantic Hex who was sacked from Azkaban for letting Sirius Black escape who ended up signing up to eat Horcruxes for fun and profit, though a great deal more humorous than this one.

But there's a great deal of glorious grim humor here, too; the song about the Bold Marauders hit home, rather, especially with Lupin (who deserved it).

I do hope to see this continue someday.
Guest chapter 22 . 4/24/2018
Thank you for another beautifully written work of art. I love the realistically flawed characters. The long delay may not bode well for its completion, but I live in hope. The relationship between the two main characters reminds me of 'Only connect'.

I cannot express how much I love your story - definitely one of the most inspiring fanfictions I have encountered. Please, please, please update! :)
Erimenthe chapter 22 . 5/3/2017
Severus has so much to work through, though I'm glad he learned to play and laugh a little at the end lmao. There is still so much that has to be done and I'm hoping there is/will be another story to take it to the end of the journey. I love the "Klingon hunt" at the castle lmao. Fred and George would love to do something like that (though I could see them setting up paint traps along the way or using paint grenades). Please let us know if the plan with the Dementor worked or what else happened and if they all make it out safe on the other end.

Please update soon
Uldaren Bardaniel chapter 21 . 4/12/2016
This story is really a boon to me personally- I've been dealing with PTSD for the past year and a half, and I've actually grabbed hold of some coping techniques out of the text here (my most favored method to shake off any panic is to recite the "One for sorrow, two for joy" raven rhyme; I can focus on the numbers and calm my breathing). I just wanted to say thanks for that :)
I think Rowling posted on Twitter last year that Moaning Myrtle's full name was Myrtle Elizabeth Warren.
RebeccaRoy chapter 22 . 3/15/2015
I do like how you are progressing with Severus here, it is very realistic and exactly how one who has suffered from abuse like he did (and abuse is really a very light word for it it was beyond that) to add to that he has a wonderful woman to stand by him who knows what he is going through. Most sufferers of PSTD never do get the full help they need, either they have to hide it due to fear of loosing jobs or freedom (yes that is a real problem in the States, one I actively am doing my best to stop the practice of) or forced to take pills that could lead them to suicide.

Lynsey is perfect for Severus, she was there, and saw what he went through, but I think even if she had not she would still be there for him and help him, that is the kind of woman she seems to me. Kind, and very caring and trustworthy. Many OCs are not as richly and well written as she is and I really like how real she is.

Reading about your dream of Snape's death brought back memories of many years ago when I was a lonely child and found hope in watching Star Trek the original series. As I got older, my life continued to not be the best and I found comfort still in a TV show. Then came the movies and they killed Spock and I remember leaving the theater in a state of shock, as bereft as when my beloved grandfather died. I also hate that Severus was killed as much as I hated that they killed Spock. This is a great story and I am looking forward to its completion. Not that I want it to end but to have the closure of a finished work. I so dislike really getting into a story only to have it stop part way through.

I just finished reading through Mood Music and this. I love the way you've portrayed the characters, hope to see an update soon.
tearsofphoenix chapter 22 . 11/30/2014
I've finally be able to read this, and I'm very glad to see that we'll have another update soon :)
I like very much all the songs, the way in which you comment the situation through the characters' words, and I especially like all the references to peculiar things of your country.
Thank you for your great job!
