I'm glad you wrote about this.I'm not good with words,I can't really express it with words how good is your story.I wish many people would think the same you for writing this amazing story.

Fantastic writing, I watched the episode a few weeks ago and you've captured Myles and D very well! :-)

This was beautiful... all the more because I come from German stock with stories of the holocaust and our 'defective' relations. It's nice that someone was brave enough to write fanfiction about a touchy subject instead of skirting around that particular episode.

You also made Myles very endearing, and not many fics out there bring such personality and conflict to him- it was nice to read.

This inspiries me too! Beautiful!

I really liked this story,i guess we can all be like Myles, dismissing people as different or defective instead of seeing the God given gifts and abilities they have. i cried when i saw the episode 'cos we forget it wasan't just Jews who were sent to the camps but.i guess we all like to think we would have helped people instead of hurting them but you showed Myles in a different light, prepared to be honest, admit he was wrong & try to change. i value Sues heart to forgive as well as this is another area i think we all struggle with. look forward to more stories .

Hey aubreysmom! I read this story over at the other site (stfbeyefanic). I didn't comment before now because "Holocaust Survivor" had been the one episode I had missed because my tape didn't tape, and I didn't have any context on which to base you story. Well, I finally caught a re-run, and when I read this story again, I realise how powerful it is. I'm glad someone has recognised that yes, Myles did judge too harshly when he first met Sue. But the guy isn't static. He's changed bit by bit, amending his more offensive behaviour slightly over time. I notice that toward the end of even the first season he stopped treating Sue like an inferior lifeform. I like the perspective you put to this whole story, by the way, because we all know that Myles has a tendency to jump to a certain conclusion a little too fast. Thank you for writing him realising how his behaviour toward Sue was horrible, and how he is now willing to learn from her (better late then never, as the old adage goes), to learn more about "her world" (for lack of a better term) instead of snubbing her or trying to force her into "his" world. Thank you for a story that makes the reader think about prejudice and descrimination and giving us a small glimpse into trying to learn all about Deaf culture from a hearing point of view (this isn't coming out the way I want it to, but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say anyway). Anyway, now that I've probably written the most long-winded review you'll ever get, I hope you post more of your stories!
