Just watched this episode last night and I needed to know I'm not the only one that thought Mac took a bullet and then my friend suggested this story.
We had an opportunity for some healthy h/c and you went there so beautifully. I like the donut metaphor.
Mac and Jack should not be separated.

And the blueberry tea.

I need more Mac and Jack in my life and your stories are better than the show. I can't tell you how much I love the way you write our boys. Your characterizations are so perfect. I can see/hear their actions and voices so clearly. I think you have a better understanding of them than the showrunners, or at least I greatly prefer your interpretation of them. I'm so happy that you have so many stories for me to dig into. They are a treat, and I get kind of giddy when I realize that I'm going to have time to sit down with one of your stories. (today I was at work and was like 2 hours til I can go home and read and I got the biggest grin on my face. I haven't been this excited about fic for years)

Yes so true. They may not make sense to some people. But to themselves they are the perfect match and work well together. So that is all that should matter.

Ok, first off, I gotta ask... Is there such a thing as a blueberry basil bourbon donut? Cuz, I have to say, I actually laughed out loud at that entire exchange. You nailed the Jack wondering story logic. The "you need the pink kidney again, brother?" line also. That's just what I call those things also, lol. Oh, and the Muppets, ROFL. I'm with Jack, loved Walforf and Statler. And I can totally see Jack actually watching the Muppets.

Great missing scene. With all that Mac and Jack get into, the Writers really need to give us more (or any, actually) hurt / comfort scenes.

And speaking of hurt / comfort scenes... If you just so happen to be looking for a tag/missing scene to write for UFO Area 51, hint, hint, (not that you don't already have a lot on your plate) we really did get robbed of a huge scene of seeing Jack flip Travis' Nascar when he was doing his laps. A bit of hurt Jack (there's *never* enough hurt!Jack), worried Mac getting a phone telling him his best friend, halfway across the country, was just in a wreck (or maybe Mac was there and witnessed it?) ;-)

Loved it and hope for more! Even went and googled the blueberry basil bourbon doughnut! A bit concerned about what you think might happen on the season finale.

I loved this! Very nice addition to the episode, and I'm not gonna say no to such quality Mac whump. ;)
I'm especially fond of the way you write Jack here.
Also now I want to try that kind of donut.

Oh my gosh. I love this conversation. I think this tag is one of my all time favorites because, like all your tags, it just fits perfectly but this episode in particular really really needed this scene. I'm just so tired of the guys getting beat on and then in the next scene they're fine, like nothing ever happened. And they're getting split up it seems more often than not, and I thought it was interesting that the original writers added those little scenes showing Mac and Jack trying to function without each other and Riley and Bozer noticing. And that warranted an explanation. I love your analogy-it just fits them so perfectly, and The way Jack explained it is just so "Jack", with a concussed Mac trying to follow along and getting a bit lost. And the end...

"I'm always going to need you there, whether you're right beside me or not". Yeah. That's our boys.

Happy you decided to tag this ep. I always love your take on what we should have seen and as usual, this would have made the ep so much better. I too am kind of bummed they’ve been splitting Jack and Mac up quite a bit lately but I’ll take that over no MacGyver at all. The synopsis for the finale sounds ominous but then again, we already know we get a season 3 so I’m optimistic everything will work out. And like you said, we still have fic to fix it if they leave us hanging. ;-). Thanks a bunch for posting.
