Reviews for Mentordora Tonks
Guest chapter 9 . 7/16
Enjoyable story. Too bad it's abandoned.
TomHRichardson chapter 1 . 7/11
Only one chapter in, and already I've Favorite'd this. This is the first-ever story about a Harry-Tonks relationship that I've read that is not romantic/sexual (though I enjoy reading HONKS stories, don't get me wrong). That Tonks's relationship with Harry is bringing Harry and Hermione closer together, earlier, is another good thing about this story.

I wish you'd complete this. It's a story to be proud of.

Really great story so far and the premise is great also and I can’t wait for an update.
Katzeman chapter 9 . 6/13
Really enjoyed this story. Tonks being all motherly is not something I've really seen done like this before and I really love it. It's cute.

Andromeda is honestly my favourite character in your story, by a long shot. She's very much your stereotypical aristocratic pureblood, just without the bigotry. It's great, and I love how she clearly cares about Harry and is only strict with her teachings because of that.

This fic is most likely abandoned, but I'm still really glad I read it. So good job.

Great story. An interesting Dumbledore. A good vision of a supportive Tonks.
Tenjo chapter 9 . 5/21
I always found the whole “Snape apologised in flower language” thing to be utter shite. It doesn’t nothing to redeem him as a character. He apologised in a way that Harry would likely never understand, meaning it was solely to alleviate his own negative feelings; not to give Harry some kind words or condolences. He actually used the opportunity to embarrass Harry in front of the class with questions beyond first year education so he clearly can’t be that sorry, else he wouldn’t go out of his way to make Lily’s son miserable.
Caddi chapter 4 . 5/13
love this chapter!
jeffs87 chapter 9 . 3/28
I’m rereading some of my old follows and got to your story.
I really like the way you portray AD. It actually makes sense. The Tonks were very interesting too. I like the idea of a strict mother figure that actually educates Harry. The closest in canon is MW and it seems that she wants to protect him with ignorance.

Anyway I really enjoyed the story.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

stevem1 chapter 9 . 3/8
I love this Harry Potter AU. It is very well done. I hope the author comes back to it.

This version of Harry Potter is very similar to the canon version, if he had even minimal competent adult support (first Tonks, then her mother).

Dumbledore is cunning, manipulative and has far too many agendas to be trusted, and he seems to accept the possible need for Harry to die, but he’s not evil, he’s not as hands off as in canon, and he does seem to want Harry to learn and prosper, at least in the short to medium term.

Tonks is awesome. She’s exactly the sort of sister a boy should have, if that boy is the subject of neglect and assassination plots.

Andromeda Black is a Black in every sense of the word, except decent. She’s whipping Harry into shape as a proper gentleman. There is also an under current that she is very competent. I suspect Bellatrix might not be the only Black sister to be able to bring the pain if need be.

I very much recommend this story, even if it is incomplete. I also just bought the author’s book Monstrosity and am looking forward to reading it.

Dumbledore is cunning, with wheels within wheels. This may not be a good thing.
stevem1 chapter 4 . 3/8
This is an excellent version of Tonks. A

I also like this version of Harry a lot, very studious, loyal, not a thrill seeker, and incredibly brave.

The obstacle course to the Stone having a variable setting based on the user(s) is a brilliant idea and an explanation as to why it was solvable with first year spells for the Golden Trio.
stevem1 chapter 3 . 3/8
Manipulative Dumbledore raises his head, though for good reason. He suspects Harry is a horcrux, a horcrux must be destroyed but he hopes to find a way around it. But underneath it all, Dumbledore is ruthless.

He’s also smart. Getting Tonks to help him train Harry up is an excellent move. I always wondered why Dumbledore never acted on his school’s obvious short comings, even if only to fill in Harry’s education.
stevem1 chapter 1 . 3/8
Excellent start.
Calmzone1 chapter 8 . 2/1
I really liked the guest welcoming ritual and the explanations Andromeda gave Harry. Very simple, easy to remember with clear reasons why he should do it. Nicely done.
